I'm in central Alabama and needing to order a truck. A 3500 MC Laramie to be exact. Dealers here are telling me that Ram is not taking 6.7 HO orders for the 3500 Laramie's.

Are you guys hearing the same thing. I'm sure the demand is high, and also being told that next month it should start up again.

Anyone know any specifics. Thanks

From what I understand 2019 orders are drawing to a close but 2020 orders are coming soon. Maybe they have already started closing certain combinations. id wait a few weeks or so and they should be back.

I hope so. Just me but, my thinking is, wouldn't this be a great time for the Ram Guy to chime in with some factual info.

Nothing like playing mind games over a 80K truck you can't buy.

I know, kind of hard to think they dont want to sell you an 80k truck but it's more of a manufacturing retooling and gearing up for 2020 changes than anything. I doubt they'll share that kind of info. Check the other forum, theres a guy there with good insight into the timing of things. I'd wait for 2020 model anyway, gives them a chance to learn and implement changes from QA inspections on the 19s.

I heard from a manager that 2019 orders were set to close in a couple weeks, but that just the other day Ram extended 2019 orders to september so i would follow up with your dealer again. This source also mentioned that if you could wait, then try to get a 2020, but he wouldn't elaborate on why.

Which other forum? 5thgenrams? Thanks. Looking at the same type of order and wouldn't mind waiting for 2020 if I knew the order dates..

Some (very vague) info over on the cummins forum.

Ya it was vague, but knows maybe he knows something...

I dont think you are going to find much more detail than that. Not sure why OP would be told he cant order that combo though, that does seem weird. Unless, and excuse me for rumor mongering, they are planning on a new transmission? Wouldn't bet on it and it's just my thought didn't read that anywhere else.

I have been told this buy three dealers. They're not able to produce an invoice from the Ram system , after I gave them my build which I built off the Ram site. I understand everything going on but, it would be great if Ram could reach a decision and inform us ( active buyers ) during this time of the year between year changes when ordering dates are finial.

I feel Ram will make few changes in 2020, maybe a " grill change, or swap around some option bundles " , therefore I can see saving $$$ by getting a 2019 order in, and not being disappointed with a few small changes.

If anyone knows of a substantial addition or change, share if you will. I'm thinking if I can't order the exact truck I want, I might wait till August or so and go for a 20.

Thanks for the feedback

Was reading through some other forums, found an interesting tool you might want to check out.

It might not be updated because I'm hearing November is the new open order date for the 2020s, but checking in time to time may tell you when you can start ordering without having to chase posts.

well it just so happens that I will go and order a new 2019 LongHorn on Friday. A Dealer thirty miles south of town has quoted me a fantastic price and I will upgrade to a LH.

Awesome jakebrake. I like the looks of the Longhorns, beautiful trucks. mind if I ask your final price?
