Hello everyone,

I just bought my Ram 3500 less than a week ago. I have had this happen 1-2x a day where I start my truck and no sound, no Bluetooth, no radio, no phone connected. I can not get anything to work. I checked and have the most recent Uconnect software 20.04.19. I read on other sites that this seems to be an issue and they had to get a whole new radio. I am beyond pissed just spent over 70k and have these issues.

Anybody else have issues or know of a fix, etc.

I have the opposite. A 12" on a $75k truck that won't turn off with the truck. At least you can still drive yours.

I'm having the same issue. Just took delivery of a 2500 2 weeks ago and about 50% of the time the radio doesn't work. Very frustrating for a first time Ram owner....

Is there an update that fixes this issue or someone I should tell the dealership to call?

Your concern will have to be properly diagnosed by a dealership. Once that is done they will know how to best handle this going forward.

Me and buddy both had this happen on ours when new: made all screen controlled audio functions useless and had to restart truck to clear. Good news is after couple weeks its cleared up and works better. Never got to dealer over it cause its 2 hours away in different state.

Same problem with a new 2020 Ram 2500 Uconnect 12”. All controls lock up with no audio. Required truck restart to unlock controls. Went to dealer a couple of weeks ago, reflashed, checked connections. Worked for a week or two, now doing the same thing with a new twist: The SiriusXM selection icon was greyed out after one lock out yesterday, dealer said to disconnect battery cables for 30 minutes to reset. Did this, now the SiriusXM icon has disappeared along with 70% of app’s and controls. Swell. $84K OTD for nothing but trouble so far.

My 2019 2500 12” Nav just started acting up. It started with “blind spot detection disabled” message in the EVIC every few seconds and continued to constant resetting radio and now I have no control over forward windows, radio, air and the radio is off 50% and then resets and then goes off again, the Nav doesnt know where it is and the compass is off. Took it to the dealership today and there were a lot of CAN bus codes. No progress so far. I have 20.04.19 software and no software issues until now.

The rest of the story: After sitting all night, I was very surprised that everything worked perfectly when I started the truck this morning. All app’s were back and I towed a boat 300 miles with everything working normally. Obviously, the truck has the capability of downloading data for app’s/updates either via an internet connection and/or satellite connectivity. The SiriusXM mode is back and working OK. I had asked the dealer’s service manager if the truck had the capability to download/re-populate the app’s that had disappeared and he told me no, that it had to be done at the dealer......We’ll see how long it works without any hiccups. It IS a great truck when it’s not broken....

Once again, my truck locked up. It worked great for a couple of weeks. Last night same thing. Uconnect locked up. Required a truck restart. On my way to Rydell in San Fernando CA this morning. Not in hopes of fixing the truck but to document my problems for a future lemon law situation. Of course, Rydell is so busy that you can’t even speak to anyone on the phone. This is kind of a minor problem but I would really think about it if considering purchasing a new RAM. Plan on the new truck wasting your life.

Ryder is too busy to look at truck. Swell. PM sent to “RAM Cares.”

I have to leave the truck with Rydell on Monday, 11/2/2020, again. Researching Lemon Laws. It appears that after four failed attempts at repairs, Lemon Laws are available. This is really an issue if looking at new trucks.

Okay! Please keep me updated.

I have recorded videos of this for dealership who said they were filing claim with Ram to get new unit but 3 weeks and nothing. I can’t get the dealership to call me back with an update. So frustrating and angry. How can there not be a software update to fix these issues. Love the truck besides this.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Ryan
