I'm looking to hard wire my police radar detector and dashcam. Which fuse I can use to connect to so they will work only while driving? I don't want them to suck my power from battery. I want to use one of these fuse tap

I just did this last weekend for my dashcam. I used the fuse for the cigar lighter on top of the dash. Only gives power when the truck is on.

I believe it's fuse F93 under the hood.

Yes. All ready to be used

The "D" location on the upfitter wiring is a Light Grey connector behind the dash, above the parking brake, that takes a jumper that came in the bag. This jumper brings BAT+ and IGN back to the blunt cut wires on the rear of the frame above the spare tire. There's also a pass through circuit to get from the engine bay to the cab in that jumper. You can use that to pick power from either of those circuits, and use the pass thru to jump one of the Aux switch circuits into the cab.

I used both BAT and IGN for my dashcam (motion detection) and used the pas thru on an Aux switch for my BD 2-low lockout kit.

I hard wired my Radar detector and dashcam into the mirror harness 12v (ignition controlled) & ground.
Have done this with my three trucks. Works great, no pobs. Have never blown the fuse.
