2019 Ram 2500HD, Is there a hidden winch mount available?

Another question. I have AUX switches in my truck. I would like to use them to control the winch. Is this possible?

Just to power it ? Probably don’t need to. Most winches want to be direct wired with a breaker and 8ga or larger wire (they are juice hogs) and have a remote so you are visualizing what the winch is doing (very important btw if this is first time). You could certainly put a big relay in (like a plow uses) and use the switch as a complete power cut off but it’s probably overkill. Put some extra floods up front and power those with the switches, can’t get enough light when winching at night in a storm

Max rating on the Aux switch (relays) is 40A.

You could use one to control the winch contactor wired to the battery.

Just checked the specs on mine for draw, 72-320 AMPS! Must explain why they want a direct connection with that odd thermal breaker they ship with it. But yes if you broke into the control box you could easily control it with two of the aux switches in momentary (in and out). I’d still recommend a remote though if you are working alone. Otherwise the cable/rope will bunch up and make a mess. Got the wireless one for $45 for mine but the corded one works just fine if you don’t mind reaching under (or through in my case).

Okay makes sense. Never used one before on a truck so wasn't sure what to do. I saw a video of a guy who was inside the truck and with wired remote in one hand and other on the wheel. Just looks odd and that is why I was thinking of the switches. I won't add a plow to my truck so I'm trying to find a different use for the switches :)

I hear you on the switches lol. I added a crap ton of lighting on mine. Front, 3 sets or rear, and my strobe beacon. My son wanted to put the winch on a cutoff but we discovered in the end there is no draw when off and it really needs a direct connection.

Keep in mind when you do actually need the winch it will never be ideal conditions. Every time I’ve needed it it’s been at night, in a blinding snow, rain, and once in a flood. You might drive around with it for a year and never need it then use is 20x In one season. Treat it like emergency equipment, well serviced and always ready. Definitely get a cover for it too when not in use. I’ve had the same cheap winch on 3 vehicles now and it’s still going strong.

We bought property in Michigan that needs ton of work. I plan to use the winch a lot during the summer there. Also I like to drive to my hunting spot and never know when I might need to use it.

Very nice. Works great as a hoist with a good snatch block too. I always wanted to do a rear mount one too but the spare tire mount is a pain to relocate and I never liked the idea of the “portable” that used the hitch since it would be over 100#s which means I’m either throwing my back out or I left it home.

Check out Vice Designs. I had their hidden winch mount on my 2019 1500. Worked great and I believe they had options for the 2500.

I received the right winch bracket and it fits perfectly. But I still can't find the part number for left one. Should I visit my local dealer and maybe they will be able to help?

So on my list there was a #6 and a #7. I believe that was a left and right. What part did you get?

I got part # 68349985AB which is bracket right. It fits perfectly. I even have the bolts preinstalled on the frame for the brackets. Left one have to be the mirror of the right one. Per your post left bracket should be Winch Bracket, Left - Mopar (68349988AA) which was replaced by 68349988AB. Weird thing is when I type winch bracket right part number is says it will fit my vehicle but when I type the part number of left it says it won't. So I'm not sure if I should buy it anyway or keep looking.

So that’s the #7, I wonder if it’s #6 is the other side.

Yes #7. #6 is the big piece that the winch sits on. The drawing is incorrect . It show right and left bracket as #7 . But there is no way you could use same bracket for both sides. Bracket is attached to frame with 3 bolts. Left bracket have to be a mirror of right one.

If I could find a photo of the left one that fits 2019 ram 2500 I could tell if it will fit my 2020 ram 2500

If you have a dealer near you that’s cooperating, they could at least find both in the system.

My experience with dealers never went too good. I think they don't like when I purchase parts and won't pay them to install them for me.

Have you ever tried Ram chat ? I’ve had good luck on escalating cases there.

Starting cases yes. Not to find part numbers cause they will tell you to go to your local dealer .
