Not sure what is wrong or how to proceed.
I would prefer Android Auto but my truck don't seem to like my Samsung S23+. it keeps dropping the wireless connection to my phone, and every time this happens uconnect feels it must change screens to tell me about it.
this happens several times per hour. when it drops so does the AA nav.

So I started using the built in Nav, but my 2 year old neighborhood is not even on my maps.
When I went into maps to build the USB drive for updating with FCA toolbox its not a choice. There is a place I can select maps to download but it does nothing.
The one screen shows my last update was late 2022 (truck was sold 7/2023 so this unit has never received an update.
when I go into software updates I can get it to connect to my home wifi, but its still not downloading anything.

I have rebooted several times by holding down both knobs to reboot, as well as held in the power button, neither helps.

Is this something I need to hit up the dealer for? the 3x36 is still good until 7/2026. Hopefully they can update it and it will start working correct?

but not excited about a trip to the dealer. I was there once about my drivers seat cover had come off in the front and they said "not warrante as that is normal wear"

Download the maps from here and put them on a USB. Follow the instructions carefully.

thanks. Map update went fine. now I can navigate to my home :)
And the wireless problem, I ended connecting to Ram through the Uconnecct. she said the cause is android auto wireless, something about an agreement Google and them signed that is must work that way.
When android auto starts, the Wifi system can't do other things like hotspot, or connect to home wifi for updates.
she had me turn off wifi update, plug the phone into the USB and most of the time the android auto comes up without the wifi, but if I forget to plug in the phone Android auto either does not start, or starts with wifi, and all the disconnects starts to happen again. I wish there was a way to turn off the Wifi part of android auto, and when I need to use it I will plug in the phone, and have the phone work as a phone to the truck over bluetooth. Maybe there is but I have not found it yet. Plus every time I plug in the phone it seems to want to ask me if I am commentating to share date/android auto or just charge.

this never ends. I was so excited to see another new map update. so I downloaded it to my PC, unzipped to my PC, deleted old files from thumb-drive, copyed new files to root of thumb same (128 g) , started truck, plugged thumb drive into dash port 1, nothing. if I click on the drive in programs it tells me read error. Plug it back into my PC and it reads it fine. Even reformed it (not quick format) same issue. But if I plug my USB cable into port 1 than into my samsung phone, Android auto comes right up (I set android audio on developer settings to have wifi off, so I must plug it in) ......

What should I try next?

Out of curiosity, IIRC, you're just placing the zip file onto your usb drive on fat32 format?
When I subscribed to their wifi Hotspot, it ran the trucks wifi, (not phone) it was its own hot spot separate.
Try doing a hard reset. And give it time to reconfigure...good luck.
Also I mentioned before, delete all the previous connections it saved and rerun bluetooth connection. If you do a search, there is a link there to delete all previous configs on your phone in android auto that caches.

**found it

I am unziping the file onto my PC, than coping the contents of the zip file onto the thumb drive.

the website shows me this. If the files are compressed in a ZIP folder, they must be extracted before saving them onto the flash drive.
I found a type 2 USB in the desk, Its loading onto the drive now, but its to late to try again tonight.
thanks for the help.
