Price negotiated from MSRP

My 2020 Limited HO (order) was $86,820 and I paid $77,294.

- $1K USAA
-$250 allstate rebate check

Got a Maxcare 8/60K for $1085

Great if you're happy with the deal (looks like an order?) but I'd work them over a bit more.

Appreciate the perspective. Yes, it's a build. Been a circus with the model year cutover, too.

Was the $77,249 before or after incentive? From what I've been able to figure out, my quote is invoice less 90% of their holdback. It alsp doesn't include any incentives. They'll apply what's available at delivery to reduce the out the door price further.

Invoice less full Holdback.

My price did not include any incentives. There were none available to me when I ordered or took delivery.

Price: $77,294
less 1,000 USAA (truecar lead)

Net $76,294

I put $1K down on order and $30K down on delivery using my Chase UA Club (always paid in full). I worked them into a corner when they said I could do a down on a CC. They initally tried to cap me at $25K but when I waffled on buying the Maxcare from them vs online, they relented.

Less 250 Allstate rebate check (8-12 weeks) claimed against a non-FCA vehicle we own.

I tried the invoice-HB-$500 but they wouldn't go for it. Wanted to get the truck ordered so I did the deal. Glad I did it when I did so I got it before the big shutdowns happened.

Tell them to pound sand on any other fees. They literally are just placing an order and don't have to fund unless you were to back out at delivery.

I think prices on a few things went up, but you should still be getting 10-12% off an order.

Congrats!! That Laramie Sticker is about $1,300 more than my Limited, must be the HO and Air suspension which I didn't order on mine.

One thing I just remembered that was quite frustrating was the model year changing. I actually tried to order a 2020, but FCA shut off 2020 orders the afternoon I drove to the dealership to finish the deal. When orders reopened for 2021, several options went up in price. The same build was $2k more the next day. Half of that was in the safety group, presumably attributable in large part to the new digital rear view mirror.

I expect all trim lines have increases similarly with like features and options.

Digital rear view mirror?

Tell me more. If that allows always on Aux trailer camera, there's a bunch of us that might be a little miffed.

Do you have any insight into if they maybe changed the FCW camera system POD over to the smaller version used in the 5th Gen 1500's?

I went digging to see why the 2021 sticker went up quite so much for exactly the same build. Found "Digital Rearview Mirror" in the 2021 HD Buyer's guide (attached). Truck Trend has a review of this feature in the ProMaster Van; I can only assume it's the same setup. I'm hoping that they did something smart and allow full time routing of a trailer mounted camera to the mirror, which would be all sorts of awesome. Given how entirely useful that would be, I'm guessing no, they didn't :) I have a few salescritters trying to find out more, but so far nothing concrete. Oddly, the buyer's guide shows the Digital Rearview Mirror in several 2500/3500 packages, but doesn't show it as a standalone feature or in the vehicle feature summaries.

I suppose I'll find out one way or the other in a few months.

Where did you get the 2021 Ram HD buyers guide? I ordered 2 days before the MY 2020 cutoff and was praying they didn't offer a HUD like the 2021 1500, or i might have gotten buyers remorse.

The 2021 Buyer's Guide (and other information) is up on the FCA Fleet Brochures and Literature page.

fwiw, from what I've heard from people that were on the 2021 truck video conference this month, the HUD and trailer steering knob will only be found on the 1500, at least through the first part of the model year. Like all things of this nature, I'd still consider it somewhat speculative either way.

I see it listed in the RAM buyer's guide, only for Limited L1 package.

Anyone have a specific salespersons name at Dave Smith in Kellogg who a out of stater should work with?

I've talked to a couple of different salesmen. I dont think it makes any difference. Its a sellers market and they will not budge from 6.8% off list. Your mileage may vary.

You should be able to fairly easily get 12% off MSRP.

I'd make a deal today if I could get them to 12% off list. They arent willing to go lower than 6.8% Last I talked to them I told them my offer was open. They havent called back. Dave Smith Motors used to be the lowest priced anywhere. Those days are gone. My last Ram I bought in Eugene OR for a better price than Dave Smith.

I just made a purchase on a limited black edition 2500 in Houston area. 12% off MSRP and great buying experience. Now I think some of that great deal came from my wife’s employer plan, I didn’t even realize we had until I met with this dealer.
I had one dealer agree to my price over the phone and when I go in they tack on 3K in dealer crap I didn’t want, I just walked out. Now they have another one from somewhere they agreed to sell to me at same price but it has 4060 miles on it. I’m just letting them spin their wheels thinking I might come look at it.

Deal check please! I found a truck that has everything I want except for LED bed lights. I can live with that.

MSRP - $77650
Price after all rebates/incentives - $67120

All in price would be just shy of 72k after TTL.

Thoughts? Before TTL, its about 13-14% off MSRP

That’s as good a deal as you’ll find anywhere right now IMO. Are you trading anything in? Save you some of that tax depending on your state.

That is without trade in. That would have been the icing on the cake but this is an out of state deal and too far for me to want to drive both directions. I would fly out, pick up this truck, then sell my current vehicle on my own.

The sales tax savings for my trade would be around 3k. I have a modified Ford Raptor and I would imagine that I should be able to scrape up most of that with a private party sale vs trade in anyways.

I say go for it. With the weak rebates and supply chain issues going on I truly think that is the best pricing you can get. I got the same numbers on my truck - purchased mid Sept. armed with the knowledge from this forum and visiting a friend that’s a sales manager at a CJDR dealer 40 mins from me.

Make sure you check all supplier rebates through your employer or any organizations or wholesale clubs you may be apart of. FCA has a long list of them. I managed to squeak another $500 out of a Home Builder’s Assn. I’m a member of. Good luck and be sure to show us that thing when you pick it up!

And since you currently have a Ford, don't forget the $250 BonusDrive rebate.

2021 Tradesman 3500
MSRP - 48,695
Price without incentives - 43,150
When I take delivery whatever incentives are available will be applied. I’ll update when I know final number.
