I just ordered a new 2026 Ram 3500. I cannot get the truck form the factory with center console. so I would like to remove the center seat and install a console from the junk yard wreck. but trying to find out witch trucks will fit. Some say that they will all match others say not. I have read that all 2500 and 3500 trucks have Gen 4 console where 1500 have gen 5. if anyone has info which one to use would be great.

I just did this swap in a 2024 2500, I ended up finding a 2022 2500 full length console at a yard close by and drover over and picked it up. I then bought a complete mounting kit off eBay, Came with the brackets, hardware and trim pieces for the dash. My old truck was a gen 5 1500 and visually there is zero difference between that console and the one I just installed into my truck, its the same exact one. I don't think there was any difference between the 2, the mounting points seem the same but I cant 100% verify that. I went with one from a 2500 just for the piece of mind that " I knew it would fit" haha

Has that console been discontinued? Or was it just not available because of other options you chose? I use mine for everything. I would have almost no use for a center seat.

Has to be because of the options ordered on the truck - Tradesman?? I would have moved to a Big Horn for the money.
