In 2022 when I installed my Amazon (Mitzone) step I had trim the plastic under my bumper too.I just installed this one recently. Great durability and fitment. I did have to trim the plastic under the bumper, but not an issue. I've bounced on it and step hard on it from the bed. I use it frequently and for under $99 you can't beat it. I didn't want to pay for the OEM and I after using this one, the OEM isn't worth it.
I ended up buying an OEM one off of a scrap yard. $100 delivered so…
Thanks for the info though,

I hope that works out well for you. I'd be concerned that they wouldn't send the bolts with it. When I installed my OEM step it came with replacement bolts.I ended up buying an OEM one off of a scrap yard. $100 delivered so…

They did NOT send the new bolts BUT, just a heads up, on a 3500 dually, the original bolts are plenty long enough (more than 4 threads still showing on the nutplate side).I hope that works out well for you. I'm sure I've still got the instruction sheets around here somewhere. I'll see if I can find and scan them.
I don't think it was a length issue. IIRC the new bolts had a higher torque value than the old bolts. It's been a while so I could be wrong. In any event is sounds like you already have it satisfactorily installed so I'll stop looking for the instruction sheet. They did NOT send the new bolts BUT, just a heads up, on a 3500 dually, the original bolts are plenty long enough (more than 4 threads still showing on the nutplate side).
A drop of locktite and I’m happy with the results
