DPF full

Yes, an independent shop can do it. Not sure about any warranty coverage though.
Warranty should not be impacted as there is no rule that you must use a dealer for service. Just keep all paperwork and receipts.

For service sure, but independent shops aren’t authorized for performing warranty work. Good luck trying to get reimbursed from the manufacturer.

Agreed...you will never get reimbursed for warranty work if something is handled outside of the dealership.

my DPF gauge went from barely showing to 1/3 full in just a few local miles after returning from a 2500 highway mile trip. kinda got me worried. called my dealer and of course he couldnt tell me if this is the sign of anything serious without bringing it in. it's my first diesel so I have no experience to go by.

this is my first diesel so I just didnt know if this is the sign of something serious or does maybe it go down some with some freeway driving.

It depends on your drive cycle, stop and go, highway, fuel quality, idle amount, and whether or not you have any mechanical issues. Read the thread. Very informative.

That is a good thread and I feel lucky to have been here long enough to have followed it gradually over the years. But for a new member? 96 pages! If I had enough knowledge, (and enough time), I would make a 9 page summary post that might end up being one of the most helpful threads here.

I wonder if there is some way to feed that thread into some sort of AI engine to see what it spits out? A result would probably require some proofreading and editing, but does anyone know enough about all this AI stuff in the news to know if that is even possible?
