Lets see what you are towing!

Did a bit of towing today made two trips picking up a few concrete blocks.
Bin/mafia blocks 3600 pounds each, 3 full ones and half one on each load, 12,600 pounds of block.
RAM worked fine, did do a bit of chewing on the second load coming up the driveway, it's a 14 to16 degree slope and today it had a lot of leaves on it also.
Lo range, first gear.

Tongue weight was a bit lighter then I wanted this load.

Is this a 3500? Air?

Went for 5 ton of gravel they ended up putting 6-1/4 ton as a “favour” because of the long wait… gross trailer weight at 17k. On a trailer thats good for 14k. Good thing I was not going far only 10 miles or they would be replacing some axles if they bent.

Heavy trailer, too.

And well loved. Looks like it’s been a good trailer!

The salt eats the crap out of it. One of these days I have to sand blast and paint it but for a 2011 its holding up pretty good considering the work its done

Last time driving/towing for the season last weekend. Truck will sit and get driven enough to count on both hands at the very most from now till next summer. Will be best friends with a battery tender.

Would be my pleasure to help, ive helped 4 others already lol. let me know the type of boat you want and or what your looking to do with it ill find one somewhere for you.

I drove across the country from AZ to IL to pick my boat up and tow it all the way back home because it was 20k cheaper than its going for here in AZ. Ive seen 2 of my same exact boat with half the engine/drive going for just that, 20k where im at. Could make that much profit and more after all ive done to it already as it sits right now and ive only had it since March.

Well not in the market right now, but that can change quickly. :)

We have a family bowrider that I share with my siblings. Then I have a '98 Sport Nautique, I have a weekday ski group that goes on a local river. And I have a '63 Correct Craft 16' that I've owned for over 40 years, hadn't been in the water for a few years but had it out at the end of this season.

I sold a jet boat 2 years ago, and I miss it. I'll either get another jet boat, or maybe more likely a 23-26' performance I/O. Nothing anywhere close to new.

I have 1 of each. 21ft 89' carrera jet with a 454 and Berkley pump with a split bowl , and this one which is 26ft 03' eliminator I/O 496 ho fully gutted/built with forged internals and a whipple super charger. Bravo1 drive and 28P prop with a IMCO -2 lower

I'd love a ride in both! The jet boat I sold was an Eliminator 21, a v-hull they built for a while in the midwest, with 454 and Berkeley, I added a snoot and hydraulic place diverter. Super fun boat and big enough to comfortably have friends and kids with me, my prior jet was just too small.

So that 496 with whipple guessing has to be close to 500 hp? Very cool boat!

God that sounds like a beauty! Love the old school Eliminator V drive/Jets. Eliminator is making a come back with smaller 19-21ft hulls with outboards, and jet and they are insanity tbh. The price tag for a new one makes you wonder why not just get a full sized big boat lol

Close, but its more actually! 576hp was where it topped out on the dyno between 4900-5100rpm. I personally have only went 4300rpm and i was going 64-65mph. at 3900-4000 cruising im only going 49-52mph depending on water (should be doing atleast 60). After 4000, because of the shorty lower theres A LOT of slip low range and cruising rpm, like 28-30%, it bites hard with little slip (16% at 4300rpm which still isnt great) and takes off because the nose is up. This off season im going to test a 30P prop (as well as a 5 blade 26p and a labbed 28p prop, but we think the 30 will do it) and we strongly believe itll really get this boat going. My buddy builds and races power boats for a living, V bottoms like mine specifically he specializes in, he says with a 30p i should be doing 70mph at 4k, not 52. So excited for net season after a fresh and full tune up done by him!

That's a LOT of power!!! Has to be a blast. For me, 60 on the water feels very fast, especially in the jet boats with such low freeboard. I've gone low 70's in an I/O and not sure I'd want to go any faster than that. I'm getting older and not feeling like pushing the limits too far.

Yeah quite a bit, was surprised myself tbh. Id imagine full tune up with the right prop set up..... at 4900-5100rpm ill be well over 80..... I will NOT be doing that often, if ever in my boat. My thing is im ringing its neck due to so much prop slip at cruising speed when it should just be .... cruising. Once we get it dialed in ill never really pass 55mph. if i can cruise at 3000-3500rpm at 50-55mph, ill very 100% satisfied. At that speed is safe, your not ringing your engines neck, everyone on board is happy, you can get places, and its fast enough to feel it. Like they say here, "55, stay alive."

I agree 100% with you. People dont realize how fast 80mph is till you do 80 on the water. I personally know guys that go well over 100mph up to 135mph, and THAT is scary i tell you what. So nothing wrong with not wanting to push.

Ive been it a boat crash myself going 35-40.......wasnt fun. Anything more i probably wouldnt be having a convo with you right now. Just makes you respect the water and boating that much more.

72MPH on a 2 seat jetski feels fast.

Based on what you want to do, fast cruising without WOT much if at all, I wonder if you should have stayed with an upgraded Bravo1 that would drive deeper and have less slip, rather than the Imco. Then again maybe it wouldn't handle the hp you are putting out.

I haven't crashed, but 2 things come to mind. My old '63 inboard, which maybe hits 40 at wot, has a tendency to dig the bow into waves at high speed, will toss you across the seat or against the gunwale depending on which direction, hard. I know people who have broken ribs. And jet boats, if you lose power at high speed, will swap ends quickly, nothing in the water to keep the stern behind you and a 600 lb engine wanting to move to the front at the same time.
