24' 2500 w/ 5k miles. Noticed early on tire wear on the outer fronts. Have had multiple truck brands/tires and never had outer tire wear this quickly. Truck tracks fine. They are Firestone transforce.

I ended up adjusting the toe out 1/2 turn and that fixed mine. Firestone’s with 14k miles half towing look new. Not saying they’re great tires but it’s not the tires it’s the way the front alignment comes from the factory. Why they set these front ends up toed in so much is beyond me.

Yup, ditto everyone else's comments. I aligned to the Thuren specs (basically no toe) and seem to be good since. Currently have 24,000 on the original firestones.

I appreciate the responses. Been wanting to put a different tire on anyways so I'll ask for the Thuren specs at that time. Should most tire shops know what Thuren is?

No. You need to print out the specs from the link 64poncho provided and take them with you. Depending upon your shop, you may have a hard time convincing them to use them.

My 2024 2500 has this same outside wear on the Transforce tires. I've got about 12K miles on it and it has a bit of a right side pull as well.

New tires are going on soon & I will give those Thuren specs to the alignment shop. I don't think I will have a problem with the shop using them.

Thanks for the info @64poncho !

Not all of them I have a 1997 Dodge ram 3500 on the fourth set of Michelin‘s now with 194,000 miles and never had an issue. Maybe just dumb luck.

Now my 22 3500 with 4200 miles is showing slight out of wear front tires. I’m going to give it a couple more thousand miles and then probably get the alignment done.

Just rotated mine with second oil change at 8700 miles and noticed the same thing, transforce at2

I’ve always thought a person needs to rotate tires at 5k miles intervals and I just get a little wear on the outside edge and I have not adjusted the alignment on my truck.

At almost 93k miles I may be getting close to needing other front end work but it seemed tight at the last oil change.

I do want to try the Thuren alignment setting when I get new tires.

Wowzers I got 24K on my 22, I have no tire wear so far either the OEM firetrash or the Copper APT II I out on in back in March that now have about 7K on them, they show no sign of wear, I try to rotate tires every 6 months or 7K what ever comes first
