What did you do TO your RAM today?

My goal today was to wire in my Auxbeam switch panel and controller and get my fog lights wired in. Then I wanted to route my rear strobe lights cables and CB antennae down the headache rack, under the cab, and up through a plug under the rear seat into the cab.

I started with the CB and strobe cables. Those turned out great. If anyone was curious, there is a 1.25" diameter hole under the carpet, under the rear driver's side storage well on the crew cabs.

Then I started on the Auxbeam system and started by installing the controller and relay box. Pretty easy.

Then I went to install the new amber lights and discovered that they didn't fit inside the bumper, so drilled new holes and mounted them on top. Routing the wires for the lights to the controller, then the panel cable into the cab was a nightmare with a herniated disc.

After 6 hours of work, I finally had the lights functional and the switch panel ready to be mounted. But it was dark, my back was killing me, and I decided to finish it up tomorrow.

I'll need to fabricate some diamond-plate covers for the unusable light cutouts in the bumper.

Ah, the things we’ll do with a bad back lol. When the wife has a chore it’s “I can’t, my back hurts.” But when it comes to tinkering on the vehicles we’ll gladly twist into a pretzel to do some mods

I have never tried that foamy spray on soap, Does it work well, do you still scrub with a brush ?. What brand do you use ? Thanks in advance looks like it sticks well !
you do still wash the truck with a mitt or brush whatever your preferred method as the Foam cannon is not a spray on rinse off situation.
The idea is just to keep the soap clean (I think) Rather than making your soap dirty in a bucket you have clean soap on the car.

Also according to my obsessed detailer, it adds lubricity, and a bunch of other fancy detail words.
He says to spray and let it set in and drip off, rinse it then spray it again then mitt it AND make sure to rinse your mitt in clean water before you dip in the soap each time.
I did that once but cant be bothered, its just too over the top. I only spray once/twice a year now.

I've got all the tools - the foam cannon, the squeegees, clay bar, buckets, micro fiber, blah, blah, blah. When it comes down to it I just pay for the premium super deluxe drive through car wash. I use their towels to dry it off and their vacuum. I do use MacGuire's interior wipes and I've got some kind of ceramic containing spray wax in a green bottle I use. It is particularly good on the black plastic parts.

IMHO, too many exposed wires. Just pop the radio screen off and run all of those wires under the screen and come up thru the coin-cubby. There's plenty of room behind the there. Its really easy..it just pops off with a firm tug after you unscrew the 2 screws in the coin cubby.

Done with the wiring for now. No real clean way to route wires without tearing the dash apart, and I'm not up for that...

I'm not sure I bought the truck may of 2025. The guy I bought it from was up on maintenance big time had everything done at the Dealership. I was wondering if it ever had been replaced !
One reason I no longer have a Ford is because I was paying the dealership to do maintenance that they didn't actually do and it ruined the truck.

I'm not a fan of having dealers do any work, but years on these automotive forums has taught me that you must ask for all old parts. Sad that you can't trust everyone to do an exceptable job.

Sounds like Griot's. I just started using this after watching a comparison video on the Project Farm Youtube channel. The stuff is amazing for the ease and price! Should keep the headlights from yellowing as well.

Added ditch lights using $60 brackets off of Amazon. But, my ditch lights are actually amber strobes. I needed forward facing strobes in addition to my rear facing amber and red strobes. I commute 15 miles one way through rural farm country and that road gets treacherous due to fog, black ice, and snow drifts. I already ran into heavy fog a couple of days ago.

Anyway, the brackets fit perfect and were easy to install. No idea why anyone would pay $200 for similar brackets.
