What did you do TO your RAM today?

Finally got the tailgate emblem sticky tape (Why oh Why does USPS try to send your package to the ends of the earth and back???) so the emblem is now installed.

After I did the wheel swap I had the option of going with chrome or black centercaps. The chrome didn't look bad but the chrome didn't settle well with the brushed aluminum on the wheels.

So I put the black caps on and it just looks right. That's what I'm going with. I have found that this truck's TPMS system is the most picky one I've ever owned. I can't wait to swap out the crappy Transforce tires for something I can use for some light offroading that's a bit taller and has better traction. And I will get into the BCM to lower that TPMS low pressure limit.

Oh...here's the wheel with the black cap on it.

Looks like the Superstitions near Gold Canyon

Yup, I was in Gold Canyon when I took the picture.

Got around to install the KaodTech bypass cable to attempt to eliminate the 3 honks when the key leaves the vehicle while running. Was driving me mad. I went into the JScan app and entered into Body Controller>Configuration>Unintended Idle Alert, it was by default as Set=on, changed to Set=off and voilà. I had to buy a second JScan license for the Ram since I couldn't transfer my previous vehicle's license. Bummer.

Last weekend I started my undercoating process. Only the bed/rear wheel wells are coated so far. I’m going to try to start the front half this weekend. I took the plastic rockers pieces off the bed so I could coat the paint they hide and make a good seal with the inside of the bed at the bottom. I did this with my wife’s grand caravan 7 years ago and it seems to be holding up well.IMG_9251.jpegIMG_9253.jpeg

Nice job. What are you using for fluid and gun? I’d love to do this myself. I’ve previously paid a guy annually.

I've been using Rustoleum professional rubberized undercoating. It seems to dry and wash off well. If you knick it it'll come off, but easy to touch up. I usually reapply every 2 to 3 years to keep it built up. I plan on using either fluid film or amsoil metal protector inside the frame, rockers and maybe bottoms of the doors. I saw a video that showed the amsoil metal protector dries better and seems to last a bit longer. I do like how fluid film has a wand for getting into things like the frame though.
