Hey everyone, new to site but have had 2020 Ram 2500 Laramie 4x4 crew sb for 1.5 years now. Love the Truck, esp when towing my 36 ft 5th wheel. My shocks are now shot and I need to upgrade.... been looking at Rancho rs9000xl's but not sure which ones to get. There are fronts and backs, fronts 0 lift and backs 3' lift. I have also seen a set of 4 Identical ones, What gives? Any other brands would be appreciated. Thx

I am no help for shocks as I am still on stock suspension but welcome.

I put Bilstien 4600 shocks on my 2020 Ram HD 2500 at around 80k miles and should have done it sooner.

They improved the ride of my truck.

For what you I think you should stick with a longer term durable solution.

The Rancho 9k like the Bilstien 4600/5100 would be a good choice. Make your choice based on whether you are factory / stock height or lifted.

If later you lift your truck you will need to replace your shocks as they will be too short.

Bilstein 4600 would be closest to stock but improved.

5100 are firmer, I'd say "sporty" but great for towing. Made my 3500 CCLB much firmer when empty than stock.

Fox will need rebuilds...

Not a big fan of Ranchos for towing.

A Rancho 9000 quickly took a dump on me. It didn’t leak, just quit damping.
5100s are on now and nice.

Fox's may need rebuilds but that's better than replacement . It tells me they are high quality, everything wears out/losses its charge being able to rebuild is a good option .

Use them hard and they need rebuilding constantly, I sold the last truck because of that.
They are super nice in between, though.

Why didn't you replace the shocks instead of the whole truck
It was a Raptor, the whole truck was built around it’s fancy shocks. It made more sense getting it down the road, afaic.
But, I don’t know if somebody could use Foxes hard on one of these 2500s without killing themselves. So…

Everything I read gives all fox suspension a 5out of 5 rating even high ratings on Baha racing. However the only bad ratings were on ford pickup's. The problem seems to be with the Ford suspension not the shocks the suspension beats shocks to death. Makes sense after all a shock is a dampener .

Indeed, the Raptor’s suspension was capable of beating it’s Fox shocks to death in short order and at the worst time possible IME.
