Always-on USB charge port?

My 2020 3500 came with only the #5 USB (rear, passenger side) hot all the time.
Haven't looked at the fuse box yet to see the fuse position
I like it that way as no one can leave something plugged in running the batteries down and if I want to charge my phone with truck off I just plug into #5

This worked for me. Just reverse it.

Not that i didn't believe the rest of you, but i was still amazed when I just checked mine and every single fuse needed to be seated. It's like the machine that installs the fuses needs to have it's deck height re-zeroed.

My USB ports, at least the front 2, appear to turn off automatically after 2 hours or so. Is that intentional or is that the battery saver kicking in? Haven't had a need to check this before but I bought a small rechargeable flashlight to keep in the center console. I couldn't find anything about USB auto power off or constant power when running a search on the owner's manual PDF.

What truck? On my 2013 2500, and now my 2020 3500, I had a fuse that could relocated to leave the power on full-time. The 2500 it was the accessory port. On the 3500 it was an accessory port and a USB if I remember correctly.

Are you thinking of this? It is the 12v plug, not a USB port.

There is a USB charging port on the dash, passenger side, that is hot all the time. Also in the center console is a conventional 12v plug that you can move a fuse under the hood and make it hot all the time. Move F90 to F91. Check the owners manual to confirm.

I'm pretty sure that F90/F91 fuse switch turns on full time power to the back two USB ports as well as the 12v lighter socket, like it does in the 1500s. @4wdriver tried this out and confirmed it some time back in this forum post: https://hdrams.com/forum/index.php?threads/always-on-usb-charge-port.587/#post-6341

Yeah. I just checked mines and same thing. They are definitively not loose, but they are not inserted all the way in for sure. My thumb is sore from pushing them all in lol.
Also from factory, the fuse f90/91 is set to allow port on battery.

My fault. I assumed folks would see my signature. It's a 2020 Ram 2500 Laramie Level 2 Hemi 4x4. I have the F90/F91 fuse to set to work with the ignition because I have stuff plugged into the 12V outlet that I DO NOT want to be drawing power when the truck is parked. I have a small rechargeable flashlight plugged into one of the USB ports on the center stack (I have 2 USB ports side by side and they seem to be the same with both charging and data). When I open the door to the truck the red LED (charging) on the flashlight comes on. Usually during the drive the LED turns blue (fully charged). When I turn the truck off and close the door the blue LED remains on. When I check it after an hour by looking through the window it is still on. When I check it after 2 hours the LED is off. Was just curious if this was a USB port automatic function, the "battery saving" feature. I doubt seriously it is a function of the cheap flashlight. I cannot find any reference to USB port switched/unswitched power in the Owners Manual.

Your signature is visible on a browser unless someone has set their preferences to not show sigs. I don't know why anyone would do that when others often remind some to put their truck info in their sig so we don't have to ask. The only reason I guess is there are a few signatures that are ridiculously long and take up half a page. The board software was changed to only allow two lines of sig and a single image. However, apparently any that were created before the change are grandfathered in.

Tapatalk also doesn't show sigs AFAIK.

Has anybody else noticed it takes a lot longer to charge a phone on usb than the usual cigarette lighter type charger?

I think it is the volt/wattage...I think the usb‘s are only like 5 watts...that will take awhile...won’t even keep an iPad charging probably if you are watching a movie for the kiddos in the back seat. For long trips, I bring a regular wall charger and use the 115 outlet.
