my weight loss coach is having problems installing weight loss plan. Numerous plans have been tried without success. Any suggestions?

It’s still in the shop. I’m not sure if they put a new one on. They stated that the their having trouble getting the codes to read.
They’re trying a new one next week.

The 22 ecms have programming that doesn’t allow it to be overwritten. That’s the first year they came out with it. Most people are having to change the ecm to a 19 model year to get it to work.

Thanks! I’ll pass that info along to the shop. I hope it works. Don’t like all the added weight.

I’m not the person to be giving advice on this as I don’t know anything about it. There are some discussions on here about the tuning requirements and what has been involved in doing this.

22 ECM's are locked. They need to be bench flashed or replaced with a 21 ECM.

I believe there was one tuner out there claiming they could flash 22 ECM's with one of the programmers, but don't recall who or which box that was.

Any chance the batteries being shot could be a problem with the truck softwear from downloading correctly?

As mentioned, you cannot tune a 22+ ecm, they haven't cracked them. The only option for tuning is using a 19-21 ECM and swapping it over then programming.
There is another option for just deleting that doesn't not require a ECM but it is just putting the ECM in a diagnostic mode and hiding the faults. This method has been problematic for many.

The ECM swap method is going to be north of $6-7k just for the hardware so if they are charging you less then that they are most likely trying to no-ecm delete method.

Honestly, from what you have passed along I'd have them put you truck back to stock (if they even can at this point) and take it elsewhere. Have a feeling this is going to be a very costly situation for you. They are going to blame everything on failed parts and have you flip the bill for their mistakes/

I've heard that the method that doesn't require an ECM swap, uses the OEM mexico file (no emissions hardware on those trucks) but there are other downsides.

What ? It starts craving refried beans?
I have seriously wondered if the files for trucks in some of these other countries that don’t require emissions equipment might work.

Just say delete. SMH
If your truck wasn’t giving you problems, don’t “fix” it.
Sounds like that shop doesn’t know what they are doing.

Heard horror stories of bricked ECM’s from that bench flash.
That's the downside. I've also heard that it's not a really good tune, no additional power, and obviously doesn't give you the option for additional tuning/modifications, transmission tuning, etc.

I don’t really need any additional power, just need to get the cork out of the butt of my truck and keep it from ingesting its own feces.
