Howdy folks. Happy to be here. I’ve had a new 2025 Ram 3500 for the last couple months. Happy overall with just over 4,000 miles on it. This is my first truck with leather seats however, and the center ventilated portion has shown this stretched appearance almost since the day I drove it home. I’m only around 200 pounds, and with this few of miles on the machine I feel it should be holding up better. If I’d have known this was how they were going to wear I’d likely not have sprung for the Laramie and just gotten the Big Horn. Is this reasonable wear based off ya’lls experience, or is this a legitimate warranty claim? Being this new and already looking like this it makes me wonder how they’ll look when they actually have several years of use under their belt. Thanks for any insight!IMG_5264.jpeg

All my Laramie's have done that - I was told it was normal.

Thanks fellas. Appreciate the feedback. Looks like I may have to go to the dealer anyway. I just put 1500 miles on the truck last week, and on the way home from a 500 mile leg I got a message something to the effect of “caution messages disabled, see dealer”. After shutting the truck off and restarting that one cleared, but then I got a “exhaust system service required see dealer” message that popped up for 30 seconds and cleared. Was pretty surprised to see both of these as I’ve been pretty much on the regen every 24 hour schedule. Hope this doesn’t mean I’m in for a future headache. Anyhow, thanks again for the feedback.

The 2025s have several updates for the TCM and BCM. It seems they have some gremlins but nothing major.

Good to know. Thank you. Looks like a dealer visit is in my immediate future.

Perform the obligatory fuse seating if you haven't already.

I did the fuse seating a couple weeks ago. It was basically every fuse. So I don’t think that’s my current issue. And as far as the wallet goes, it’s more the bank’s wallet than my own. Ha

OP, my drivers seat did the same thing and I weigh 160 lbs. The passenger seat is fine with the same use. The dealer is ordering a new lower cushion and cover under warranty. The cover is on backorder!
I did take it to an upholstery shop prior to the dealer, they agreed it wasn't correct. They wrote an explanation of the defect and appraisal to repair it which I gave a copy to the dealer on their request. They were going to take my truck to the upholstery shop for their feedback for warranty purposes anyway

My drivers seat is like that as well on my 2026 Laramie. I'm only 180lbs and am very rarely with how I get in and out since on this truck I didn't want the corner of the seat getting creases like my other ones did. Might have to document and go to the dealer as well.

For anyone following this, took it to the dealer and they submitted it to Ram to see what they say. I’ll follow up when they let me know they’ve heard back.

Also, just as a general question, these downloadable software updates that come out on the trucks, are you only eligible to get them if you are having dealer verified problems, and must otherwise pay for them? That seems to be the case based on my experience. Which makes it very difficult if you’re experiencing all these caution and warning messages that come and go and may not be present at time of dealer visit.

You haven't been able to manually download the updates since at least the 2019 model year.

At least as long as you're under warranty, fhe updates will usually happen over the air within a period of time after they're released. If there is an update that might fix a problem but it wasn't released OTA, then it can only be uploaded by the dealers.

And if you aren't having a problem, the dealers will often recommend not doing the update just to do the update. Sometimes that breaks things.

Hey OP, any news from Ram or @RamCares on your loose leather drivers seat?
It's been months since I took mine in for that same issue. All I've heard from my dealer is "It's still on back order".
Hopefully they can get the necessary parts soon!

You bet! Still no word. Waiting to hear back from Ram on whether they are willing to fix or not. I’ll definitely update the thread with any changes!

I am going to ask my dealer today about mine. All the other seats are fine, this started from having my Grandsons car set in this seat.

Well guys, some disappointing news to share. According to a phone call I just had with the dealership, Ram supposedly denied the claim due to “outside influence”. When I asked him what outside influence was, he said “stabbing the seat with a knife” or something “in your back pocket stretching the seat”. I then asked what evidence there was of any outside evidence and he didn’t have an answer. Just said that “we went to bat for you, but they just said no”. I can assure you that no outside influence other than my 200 ish pound rear has had any impact whatsoever on the seat. The other disappointment with the whole experience is that I had a case open with Ram Cares. Ram Cares called me and told me that the dealership had told Ram Cares that they had attempted to make contact with me to advise me of my denied claim and hadn’t been able to reach me, and I don’t know how other to classify that, than that it was a lie. Just got off the phone with the dealer and told him this, and he just apologized and said they had intended to last week, but maybe they had just missed it. Overall, not a great result. Had heard some positive things about this dealer, but looks like I need to find a different one. Hope anyone else dealing with this has better luck.
