I ran it for a few years but my needs have changed. Needing my gear less and my bed space more. Why the change? What did you not like about the decked system for your truck?
Replaced both batteries after truck wouldn’t start in a remote RV park. Luckily I got it jumped off and drove straight to the nearest Walmart and put them in in the parking lot. One battery had leaked but luckily the tray had reservoirs to catch it. Cleaned it out good and poured soda water in it and let it sit a little. Then wiped it out. 2 and a half years on the batteries. RV=ruined vacation.
Did I also mention I had a flat on the trailer?
PS: I also have the P2509 code but no CEL. Will it clear on its own or will I have to do it manually? TIA
I keep a set of HF jumper cables under the back seat in my truck. I got them for “just in case” and turned out to need them. The p2509 code I got wouldn’t clear on its own but I was able to clear it with the ScanGauge.I did nearly the same today.
Knew the batteries needed replacing but had been running a maintainer and using a boost box when needed. Well, I didn't plug it in last night due to parking snafu at the RV park, and like an oaf, hadn't charged my NOCCO after several uses. Needed a jump and the only cables I had (or anyone) were my genset jumper cables with one end setup to bolt on. Had to use the NOCCO clamps to capture that tab and let it charge off the source truck for 10 minutes before it would finally crank.
Got all the codes cleared and got back home, only to have the CEL pop again near home and now won't clear even after replacing the batteries. Dropped the RV (after running around with the trailer a bit more to finish a 24 hr regen) and got over to WM for a set of Platinum AGM's before they closed. CEL is still lit.
If it doesn't clear in a few days of driving and reading/clearing codes, I'll have my son take it in (Ram dealership).

I don’t have any codes but the emissions test parameters are not complete. I have 4 that are not complete and they were before the battery deal.FWIW, I hadn't yet setup my OBDLink app with my MX+ on my phone (though I had used it with AlfaOBD and JScan). I did that, let it read all the module PID's, etc. and was able to clear the codes and MIL.
I do have a permanent code set P24B4 that may or may not be related to my current frequent regen issue. I don't know when it was set as that data doesn't show.

We don’t have emissions testing here. When they start acting up out of warranty, they will be gone.Same. Those are just not gonna set until the drive cycles are complete. I'll keep an eye on them, but have about a year to go before my next renewal which I'm certain will require a test (Stupid CARB in Colorado).

I had a 22’ 6.4 from Sep 22 until May of 23’. I don’t know if the one I had had something wrong with it but it wouldn’t even pull itself down the highway at 70 mph without downshifting and only averaged 13-14 mpg empty. It had 3:73 gears but was gutless below 4000 rpm. Before I bought my 2024 2500 6.4 I was considering going back to a 2018 CTD. I live in a Arizona county that doesn't require smog tests. Being retired, I don't drive as much anymore. I'm really enjoying the 6.4, not the gas mileage so much though.
This 2024 has 3.73 gears and I haven't had any issues so far. We will be doing a 2000+/- round trip to Komiefornia in November pulling our 26' travel trailer that's 5,500lbs loaded for traveling. It'll be our first tow with this truck.I had a 22’ 6.4 from Sep 22 until May of 23’. Thats a great looking website. Full of neat ideas. Definitely saved it to my favorites.
