O so it’s not an oil additive. Ridiculous, mine honestly sounds like a waste gate rattle of some type until the engine warms a min or two then it’s gone
6.7’s don’t have waste gates.

They will most likely tell you the same as I was told after TSB aligning AC belt ect "there is no known fix at this time" or in plain words ya have to wait until its out of warrantyGood to know. Definitely right side. Could be hearing the tick through the exhaust. I’ll update on what they say. I started a thread and it’s got a link to the video with the sound.
Interesting. Too coincidental that it started immediately following first oil change at 6k miles. Was told it’ll go away now at 8k still there but only cold start which is relative considering it’s summer in az. Last a few minutes then goes away. They will most likely tell you the same as I was told after TSB aligning AC belt ect "there is no known fix at this time" or in plain words ya have to wait until its out of warranty
Many miles after I went to Amsoil best 5w40 the noise level started to go down and its now intermittent ( I have stopped constantly listing to see if it still there as it gets me Po'ed when i hear it and the wife hates it when i get in that mood) I have never noticed it at start up, it mostly shows up after a shut down an restart...Interesting. Well, just got a call set. The truck is ready. Did a transmission relearn for the hard shifting and supposedly it’s the DPF injector that I’m hearing at start up.There isn’t anything valve train wise on the passenger side to make noise relative to the first oil change.
Or you have a complete failureThey will most likely tell you the same as I was told after TSB aligning AC belt ect "there is no known fix at this time" or in plain words ya have to wait until its out of warranty
Have you checked to see if it is an exhaust leak causing the tick? Manifold and turbo flange are fairly common. Is the tick consistent and gets faster as RPM’s rise?Good to know. Did you go through the process of eliminating the AC compressor for this sound?Fixed so anyone can open the link. Apologies

Word on the street it’s lifter alignment pins that are the wrong spec and the bore a bigger hole in the block which then needs to be replaced. This is the reason new cam and lifters doesn’t fix the issue. Likely why they went back to cast iron and kept hydraulic lifters because they weren’t actually the issue the block was.My 23 is going to the shop tomorrow for this same tick. Mine only happens after the engine gets up to temp, & only at high idle. Cold starts sound fine at both low & high idle.
