Just want to verify where I plug in for the bypass. Also found this tap? Is this factory?CAC08B8F-80F8-4B45-8455-EAC78C91B412.jpeg34B5E0E1-F7E6-4558-8B7A-715069962722.jpeg

Bypass cable should indicate BLACK or WHITE CAN base connection. It doesn't mater which slot it goes into, whatever is easiest for you.

You can also pull the headlight switch bezel for easier access to those CAN blocks.

That tap and ground is most definitely NOT a factory option. LOL.

Wire cut taps are garbage.

Thanks for the info and the tap I have no idea what it is. I bought the truck new and just noticed it trying to install this. Debating on holding off on the Aev procal and taking it into the dealer and finding out

I’m wondering if it’s the dealer gps theft thing

Yea, probably. Sh*t install IMHO.

Dealer upsell? F that. Unless it's a finance thing....

I would make the dealer document anything they added and take full responsibility for it before touching anything else.

I posted a picture up above but I’m 99% that’s what it is. When I bought the truck they said the dearlership had to install them because they’re next to the Mexico boarder and their trucks get stolen a lot. I told them I wasn’t paying for it so it was removed in the price but I’m guessing they left it on the truck.
And as far as the the Aev Procal goes either green bank works? I was going to install on the thiner one

Have a link to the AEV install instructions or post an image?

The Koadtech bypass cable is specific to which block their connectors go into. One has a BLACK base, one a WHITE base. I think one is CAN C and one is CAN IHS (but I'm guessing). Basically they're on either side of the SGM ( Security Gateway Module) and you're bypassing that to enable writes to the BCM.

Oh, and I'd probably make them remove that BS and fix the wire they tapped properly.

P.S. I seriously doubt a thief wouldn't rip that wire out as soon as they gained access to the cab. ROFL.

Sorry. I missed that pic while composing a reply then wandering off on something else before finishing.

Their instructions are unclear which block, that looks pre-2018 SGM.

I believe it needs to be in the C (Black base) bus block.
