AC not as cold as my 20 yo van....do I need the Muzzy AC hack

I use remote start ALOT and I pay for the subscription for the app. I will remote start the truck about 5 mins before I go to get in to it, work, mall, etc...this helps to get the cabin temp down to a comfortable level quicker. I would also recommend keeping up on the cabin filter changes - the first one only had about 16K on it and once it was replaced the fan blew harder. I had not really thought the fan speeds were bad - but that new (probably less restrictive than OEM) filter pepped it up a bit.
 
I’ll never understand how my 20 year old half ton blows so much cooler than my brand new Laramie.

Ram climate control leaves a lot to be desired.
Differences in refrigerant... the newer stuff isn't as efficient.

... So these rigs plumb the trans oil through the main radiator as opposed to having their own cooler? I will look into this... Thanks for the insight... I may have to order a separate trans cooler anyway if that's the case...
Yes, pretty standard with most vehicles.
 
My 2006 had R134a refrigerant just like my 2022 does, yet my 06 produced cooler air temp then my 22, my 06 could get air down to 35 degrees my 22 will not go below 48 degrees
My 2024 also has R134a and it gets plenty cold. You may have a leak in your system that requires fixing and a refill of refrigerant. I'd have it looked at if I were you.

Dealer has checked it out twice now and both times stated its operating like it should, nothing wrong with the AC system, air temp is within FCA specs....

Something isn't right if it's only getting down to 48 degrees. I'd find another dealer, or find a local shop that'll look at it. My 2024 gets down to 38 with no problem.

Looks like I'll need to find one, other h=in the past also said its normal terps for the newer trucks so believed it when dealer said system was working within specs
 
Southern Arizona here - been averaging 105+ - AC blows 34 degrees out of the vents - no hack needed.
Southern Arizona as well and no need for it, 105 now here too. Mine blows great and very cold. But mine did have the 19'-'20 HVAC TSB done back in '22 I think, replaced the entire interior HVAC system.

I use it as well, like it cold when i get in. I changed my cabin to the K&N reusable and it picked up a bit it seemed.

Are you sure it has R134a? My 2024 has R-1234yf and I'm pretty sure all vehicles sold in the US were required to use R-1234yf by 2021 but I'm not sure about Canada.

Positive. When I bought the truck and took possession of it last week, first thing I did was look under the hood to get better acquainted with things. I saw the AC sticker and it clearly said R134a. I too thought it was odd, cause my 2017 Jeep Wrangler uses R1234yf. I double checked the low and high pressure fittings on the AC system and they certainly take the R134a quick connect fittings.

You're right! When I looked online it said my truck used R-1234yf but when I looked at the sticker under the hood it says R-134a. I guess there is an exemption for HD trucks.

This made me pop the hood on the van, sure enough R134a. Must be the 9050 GVWR.

LOL, that works for me. At least the 134a is more efficient than the 1234yf stuff. I can definitely tell the difference between the 2.
