New here, going to be moving from a 1500 to a 2500 between now and the end of the year. I saw the Warlock article and it said, "orders are open now at dealers", curious if anyone has pulled the trigger and if it's really a Tradesman with the Warlock package or what else might be standard, given the 12" screen in the photos. I currently have a 2021 1500 Classic Warlock but need more payload.

How much payload are you looking for? With all the varying numbers I've seen on Ram 2500's, I just ended up ordering a 3500.

Funny you should mention payload, since posting this I started looking at all the people who have 2500's with a slide in camper, and most have added air bags which I don't want to do as we spend most of our time dispersed camping off pavement. I've decided at this point the 3500 makes way more sense, the cost difference is negligible, and lots of companies do custom leaf packs if needed.

The downside is I am going to have to order because I want a Hemi, not the diesel, which are few and far between on dealer lots for those of us that want a step above the Tradesman.

The Ram 2500 is a horrible platform for a slide-in camper, even with the recent “bump” in payload.

Try to get the auto-level suspension.

Why wouldn’t you want airbags for dispersed camping? That’s how nearly all of our camping is and my current truck is the first one in 18 years to not have airbags… and that’s more a factor of I haven’t had it long enough and trying to put money into the van and not the pickup right now. It will likely end up with airbags before hunting season. Airbags, when used properly, only enhance the vehicles abilities for towing/hauling/camping.

Based on what seems to be available the Warlock is gonna be about $5k more than a Tradesman and you'll get the rebel wheels and 34s, Bilstein 4600s, transfer case skid plate, and the pictures showed the power wagon flares.

No locker means I'd rather just build my Tradesmen up afterwards. If you really valued that wheel/tire package maybe...

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve seen quite a few video ls not recommending the 2500 coil/multi-link rear suspension for slide campers. I wanted the hemi/3500 payload which is close to 4000lbs. So I should be covered for whatever I plan.

I've had a marginal experience with in coil airbags in Jeeps and my current Ram, but having now looked into the auto-leveling system I can see it's a very different design and it's benefits. That said, where the hell is it in the build configurator, can't find it for the life of me!

Slide-in's I am looking at are pretty light weight, 1200lbs-ish and with another 500-800lbs of gear, etc., I would think I would be covered with the 3500 payload and then some as well. Seems like we are headed down the same path!

That's the point I have reached as well in researching, 2500 just doesn't add up for a slide-in. 3500 would cover us for any future upgrading as well if we went to a platform style camper.

The HD’s don’t use airbags in the coils, the go outboard of the coils. The airbags actually add a lot of stability to the 2500 due to the narrow stance of the coils.

The ram configurator is a joke and has been as long as I can remember. The documents in this thread will be far more accurate.

No kidding on the configurator! Thanks for the link, I will check it out!

Not to derail my own thread, but it appears from the Granger documents, auto-leveling is only available on the Laramie and Limited trims. Thanks to @AH64ID for the documents, very helpful!
