Hi there. I live in a remote area. As such I have zero access to a RAM HD of any variety to test prior to purchase.

My garages lowest point measures 82.7. Concrete is the obstacle, I've already read the threads with helpful tips on extending the garage door opener 'back' (thank you). I'm debating whether to make the purchase. Questions-

1) My mid-IQ brain fails to adequately comprehend whether the slope of my driveway/garage is advantageous or not. I am happy to post pics if it's helpful. My driveway progressively rises in elevation as it approaches the garage, culminating in the garage being prob. 1" taller than the driveway at the door. The garage slopes downward/elevation decreases as it moves away from the door for drainage. I'm reading that this is advantageous? When I picture it I picture the sharkfin at the front of the cab crossing the garage threshold with front wheels higher than rear wheels, therefore making it more unlikely to fit?

2) If it doesn't fit and making the garage 8' isn't an option, do I have any options at all? Is there such a thing as an 'on demand' lowering kit wherein the PW is normal height until you wish to lower it? Removal of the sharkfin? Something else I'm not thinking of?

Tough decision as there really is no PW competitor that I'm interested in. Thank you!

My old man’s truck (not a PW) has a Thuren 2” level and is sitting on 35’s, it fits in my garage and I have a standard 7’ door. My truck is 100% stock and I was curious if it would fit should I decide to go the same route…

I can measure the lowest point thru the threshold if you’d like

Think snow.

Don't know if you get it, but it makes what just barely clears the cab through our north facing 7 foot garage door for our 2024 Ram 3500 4x4 Crew Cab (with the shark fin) on 33's and our 2016 Ram Power Wagon on 35's, NOT fit for 7 to 8 months annually. Just need less than an inch of compacted snow to not clear versus the 250 inches that falls annually. Our snow doesn't melt during winter, but evaporates through sublimation, except for on the north side garage driveway which doesn't get the sunshine. Too risky to park either trucks in the garage.

Well damn. I'm in Michigan. That hadn't even occurred to me. Thank you. I guess i have to go with a boring half ton or maybe I can get away with a 2500 Silverado or something. Those list 78 inches. Thanks.

why is a half ton boring? Is what your towing/hauling to heavy for a half ton or?
Just a boat that any 1/2 ton can easily handle. I'm one of those weirdo's who enjoys daily driving an HD. Also think they age better aesthetically. I keep my vehicles a long time.

sorry for the double response. When it snows would it be just the shark fin that gives you trouble or the cab itself? I'd be willing to get creative and remove the fin tbh.

your door height might not be the lowest point. Speaking from experience. My truck fits in the garage but not in the center of the garage due to the door opener arm. Got a nice scratch on my roof from it.

I have a detached old pole barn with a gravel covered dirt floor with plenty of clearance for just one of our four pickups. I would never chance the garage with our 2024 having hard packed snow stuck on the driveway at 0F. Can't get out the driver's side when driving into the garage to even guess check the shark fin clearance located on the passenger side.

Call me crazy but why not just park outside if it does not fit?

i did see others mention this and made sure to measure with the door open. At the lowest pt the arm is 7.4, all good there. Thanks.,

Fair enough. Thank you. If I may, what is the slope of your driveway like?

About 2 to 3% slope down from the garage door and then it begins to drop steeper to about 15% to 20% on gravel at the end of the concrete. We use a lot of salt and magnesium chloride on the concrete by the door to clear the packed snow. So the concrete pad has been destroyed/eaten away from the garage door. 24 feet by 24 feet garage, but the otherside in front gets our snow piles, so we use that side in the garage for tons of wood pellets and lawn equipment storage.

Looking out the garage door. Got our red Chevrolet K1500 pickup in the background. Yes, there's still snow on the mountains in July.
