Wagoneer WDH

It does great! All stock aside from airbags. It's still a mini-truck towing a TT so there is definitely some expectation management, but I don't have any complaints. Hills and flats at altitude takes rpms, but that's not any different than towing ~10K with my Hemi.
I'm guessing 35 inch tires were the culprit on mine. On some hills, the engine would rev over 5K just to maintain 45 MPH.

Peak torque is at 4400 and peak hp is 6400, with more hp than torque the engine is going to run best pulling grades above 5K rpms. That's just where it will want to live on steep hills even with the stock 33's.

She's able to hold 54-55 on a 6-7% grade (sections up to 12.4%) in 3rd at ~4800, but that's all it's got. Need to try starting that hill at 60 and see if it'll hold being over 5K.

There is big factor to consider here. The Wife Seal of Approval (WSofA). My JTR had an exhaust system and while it didn't drone, it was throaty and she hated it while towing a camper on a windy day at 5k RPM. The day we got back home she revoked the WSofA said "we need a new truck!". My response was, say no more!

Yeah, I can see that being a bit much with an exhaust system. The stock exhaust is pretty quiet.

Just updating this thread. Got a Sherline tongue weight scale.

How I typically like it loaded before a trip with empty grey/black and full fresh tank (fresh located up front and black grey behind the axle) I’ve got 800 on the tongue. Black/grey/fresh full I’ve got 700 on the tongue. 5k gross TT.

I’m not unhappy about it. Tows easy.
