I've got a 2021 3500 with a AS69RC Aisin transmission. The manual says filter and fluid need to be changed every 60K. I've done some research and this task doesn't look incredibly difficult. However, I'm a little nervous because well its the transmission. Has anyone perform this maintenance before? Any tips? Also the dealer says that the fluid is a special blend that is $20 a quart, is this a dealership line?
Thanks

It’s not complicated and you don’t have to buy the dealer fluid a lot of company sell the appropriate fluid.

Thanks for the reply. Which filter do you use? Big price difference from O'Reilly's and the Mopar OEM.

If I'm not mistaken the Aisin transmission calls for the Mopar ASRC transmission fluid or Mobil 3309. I don't think any others are "approved" but I am not an expert. There certainly could be other options that meet the requirements.

Mobile 3309 = ASRC, which is also the same as Toyota T-IV. It's not a fancy spec, it's an old spec.

There are multiple options that are compatible. I used Amsoil Signature Series in both my Aisin's since it says ASRC on the bottle.

I've also use amsoil in mine since first service. Curious if yours has a slight 2-3 shift flair when cold... Not actual cold, but after sitting.
