I have 2025 Limited Longhorn 3500 Mega Cab. Everything to me looks the same other than the 14.5 main screen and the upper glove box was replaced with a passenger 10-inch screen and the front seats have some nice fabric added to the seats to break up the leather, nicely done. They did away with the upper section of wood at the steering wheel and lost the leather passenger grab handles along with the chrome inserts at the exterior door handles.Dose anyone know if there are any differences between the 2024/2025 3500 door panels and upper glove boxes? Do the 2025 ram 1500 door panels and upper glove boxes interchange?
I have a 2025 3500 Tradesman and would like to add the upper glove box and change out the door panels.I have 2025 Limited Longhorn 3500 Mega Cab. I use to feel you got more for your buck with Ram but now, not so much.
I love the fabric inserts in my Longhorn. The fabric breaks up all of the leather and I feel makes it more pleasing + it's one of the first things people say they like.I’m not fan of the fabric inserts on the limited and longhorn trims. Am I missing something here? I feel for a truck at this price point it should all be leather.
I was disappointed with the missing wood on the steering wheel and the chrome incerts on the door handle. I cant u derstand for the best of me the $ they would have saved. I do personally like the cloth and leather seats, breaks-up the large amounts of leather.Yeah… I’m on the seems cheap bandwagon… I had a 19 longhorn, a 20 limited mega cab 2500 and now a 22 3500 mega cab HO… it’s the black and brown longhorn
I am not ready to switch to the 25 with the new transmission quite yet… in spite of the issues people have had with lifter failures, I have 50k trouble free (knock on wood) miles, I want to see how the new Cummins and trans changes shake out once people get some miles on them. That said… if the truck was nicer… I’d take the risk on buying a new one, but it feels like a down grade beyond the 8sp.
Re the the other changes though… lost the wood wheel and analog gauges in 23 (I can’t be the only person that thinks the digital gauges look like garbage compared to the analog ones on the higher trim trucks… way better than ford and GM’s set ups… but still)
The wood wheel top is one of my favorite things, it doesn’t wear like the leather… and then yeah, the missing upper glove box in favor a screen that no one (most of all
Me behind the wheel) will ever use seems like a gimmick that will be (I hope) phased out at some point… I imagine if people really liked them ford and Gm woulda jumped on that train too.
In general, the absence of custom stitching, cheaper looking wood in the limited, no leather grab bars in the back, one wheel and grill across the limited and long horns, and absence of the chrome door handle inserts just turns me off to the 25’s… I like that my truck looks different than the limited, and that a limited looks different than a night edition bighorn / Laramie, I like that the steering wheel sets the limited and longhorns apart from everything else on the 22 and down trucks… oh and I’d be pissed if I bought a new Laramie and overlocked the fact that it doesn’t have painted flairs anymore.
I get that these changes may save the manufacturer 1000 bucks a unit over the 5 year run… but I’d gladly pay that… i really hope they figure out how to make the long horns look more like a long horn again… I.e. no mostly black wheels, different grill, etc. and lose that extra screen where I keep my stash of sheetz napkins
And… that’s why I’m afraid to go drive one!I was disappointed with the missing wood on the steering wheel and the chrome incerts on the door handle. I now have just over 7K on my 25 and when I towed 14K for 3K miles Az to Missouri I was super happy on the performance, you will forget about the missing items
