*Breaking News* 2025 Orders from MARK DODGE **

Anthony, have you ordered any forged blue that have been scheduled for production?
Also, have you heard anything about the 2.4Kw inverter option causing delays?

Yes we have a few forged blue in D1 status currently.
Inverter have not gotten official word yet (they haven't forced removal/cxl or anything) but the ones with that item are in C status at best, rather than D/D1. Outlook not so good.

Evening! I just went to my local dealership to order a 2500 Limited with the 6.4 Hemi and the dealership is unable to put an order through. Is RAM not doing anymore 6.4 Hemi orders for the year??

My forged blue was confirmed the 16th of April and scheduled the 26th. Since then Mopar has gone dark lol

I’m a newcomer to HD trucks, so I’m very curious what long time owners think. I’m very eager to buy a new 3500 and have researched how I’d like to have it configured. I know this means I’ll need to place a factory order to get what I want and then wait for it to be built, much like many people on this site. But I’m starting to feel like my configuration will not be available before RAM closes out the year’s orders (speculated to be in only 2 weeks!). Is this at all typical for RAM or just a weird year due to the backlog of 2024s? Should I hold out hope for 2026? In comparison, I’ve made factory orders with different companies (Chevy, Jeep, BMW) for over 40 years and I’ve never seen an option or color not available or run out. Is there something unique that I don’t understand about an HD truck that makes it logical to slowly roll out trim levels, options, and colors?

Pricing? I'm the wrong guy to ask LOL. I don't mean to be silly about it, but we have positioned ourselves to be the largest RAM dealer in US by a significant margin, by having arguably the best prices on the most consistent basis. So for me, and us, customers come to us because they like our price however that may compare to the overall RAM pricing metrics and average transaction price nationally.

Having said all that, the price conversation is a touchy one overall because it is very difficult to get the real data. There is a big difference between change in MSRP and what the vehicles actually sell for. And we're stuck with believing strangers on the internet if we get anecdotal evidence (even worse if they're a car salesman LOL) For example I ran the apples:apples math on Wrangler's last spring and found that the base model gas wranglers have had an average of a 3.3% price increase per year. My favorite (sarcasm) youtuber claims that Jeep raised MSRP 50% during covid. (Spoiler: That wasn't true)

Ram 1500s' have actually seen a significant INCREASE in standard content over the last few years, which they've done to justify the increase in price. A 1500 Laramie has gone up in price $21,000 through seven model years. IN 2024 to 2025 change, they added about $5K worth of content that was previously optional. Now if we're talking transaction price, the 2025 Laramies last month were getting $6500 off MSRP in most regions, I don't think that was happening at the $47K base price back in 2019 5th gen release. This DOES however jive with your comments about the vehicles becoming more complex. 100% true, they are. There are some very small de-contenting items on HDs but I think they're a small percentage of the overall value of the vehicle, but I can see if you were very attached to a particular item how it could seem that way (even if replaced with stuff you didn't necessarily want!)

Quality/reliability is quite subjective - JD power and Consumer Reports seem to love RAM brand lately, I'm sure that tune will change to sell magazines (or clicks?) and change the story soon enough. Remember that the forums are going to be filled with the most likely particpants - some passionate guys who just love to tinker, but also it's a place where people come to find solutions to problems. The large swaths of people out their with trucks just doing truck things may only come back online when they're ready to shop. I do believe also that the other mfrs are quite similar.... their forums look much the same when I noodle around there too.
It's fun stuff, at least we are getting back to our core audience here at Chrysler

MOLTEN RED is open for bighorn, tradesman, powerwagon/rebel (no night or sport however.
Black, white, granite, and forged blue metallic are open across the board.

Everything else is NOT open, and does not have an ETA that we have been told so far.
It is a growing probability that waiting for another color may be waiting into a higher price, if we experience cost increases.
A factory order placed is price protected, however.
They need 10 of a color to run that down the line.

There's not even an option for a simple vehicle. Even if you want one it seems most now have all the electronics anyway, features aren't turned on but all the troublesome modules are there.

Electronic wise on my '22. 8.4 radio replaced. Alpine amplifier, MAF sensor, differential pressure sensor, BCM, trailer brake controller, DEF pump and sensor, two sets of batteries. That's just the electronic/electrical issues. This is by far and away the most unreliable vehicle I've ever owned. That's saying something, I bought a new Vega when it came out.

Fords appear to be even worse. Major discontenting, cheapening product and endless electronics and software issues.

Add to this the manufacturers have made things so complex and changes so fast the poor mechanics at dealerships become utterly beholden to the Star techs or whatever the manufacturer's support is who in many cases seem to know even less then the mechanics do. Even if they do know what's wrong, no parts.

Instead of focusing on what nifty electronics they can put in vehicles to sell our data and who has the most torque and horsepower how about fixing QC and reliability issues?

I'd love to have a new truck that lives in my driveway instead of the dealer with endless check engine lights and warnings I'll be walking if I don't fix something.

I'm going to see what the '25's bring. Hopefully somebody paid some attention to the problems of the current generation and are addressing the issues. I'll get one if so. The Mark dealer guys have seemed to be pretty straightforward with us. Hopefully I'll be trading with them later this year. :)
My 22 Ram has been fine, however my 72 Vega GT......

Any way you can check with your parts and see if they have :

I got my 2025 couple weeks ago and that part needs replaced according to my dealer but it’s on national backorder. I thought maybe since you guys are a high volume store maybe you would have one. I am supposed to leave in two weeks to drive from Indiana to the Grand Canyon with the kids pulling a the camper.
Not anywhere, wow! Just searched.

Seems like after releasing the 2025 late in 2025 as an after thought, Ram wants to jump ahead to 2026. Must be reasons, but hopefully we will know more soon. First announcements on Jun 6th. But for Ram to turn down so many sales when they desperately need to build, there must be changes coming for 2026. If not, then man they need more help then we thought. Why even have all the colors on the website?
2025 builds started in late Jan early February

Does anyone know what the restrictions are for Laramie crew cab long bed 3500's? Just noticed my order for has the cab and trim configuration highlighted and says restrictions, but doesn't specify what restrictions.

Mine sounds the same as yours. very curious to know what the restrictions are.

RESTRICTION (item shaded in red) means that there is A restriction on that particular item for A reason in A scenario.
It does NOT mean that the item cannot be ordered at all for all reasons in all scenarios, and importantly not necessarily the one you're looking at in any given time.
Clear as mud?

A VERY large portion of the items on restriction are because of constraints on STOCK allocation, unrelated to sold orders. For example if supply chain decides that they want to make only shortbed laramies for a certain ordering cycle, or only hurricanes no pentastars, then the alternate item will show red in restriction. This means that dealers may NOT order them for dealer stock. It may or may not mean they can order them for factory orders. But it will definitely show in red, even on the sold order toggle.

It can also mean that the whole damn trim level has filled up it's dealer stock allocation for that cycle, but a factory order may still be placed w customer name on it.

It MAY mean that the particular item could slow down your prospective timeline, it may not.

Long story short, it means SOMETHING but it's not the end-all be-all if it is on your order.
Most importantly, if RAM cannot build what you ordered, you're not required to purchase the truck and you don't lose your deposit.
Sometimes it takes them a while to communicate that things are all A-OK.... and even longer to say that they're not.

Here's a Bighorn ordered with the engine choice on restriction, and where it sits less than a month later already built!

Yup .. clear as mud haha.

where can I check on my order for all these restrictions? I have the order number and VIN

My dealer was able to get their hands on one with Stellantis’s help. It didn’t fix the issue though. Turns out, someone else had their truck fixed for the same problems after the engineers went and looked at it at a different dealership. It was the brake control on the dash not the module that was causing the issue…. Hopefully my dealership gets my part tomorrow. Supposed to be pulling from Indiana to the Grand Canyon leaving next week with the camper. Otherwise, the truck is awesome!
