I have a 2019 ram 2500 with coils and I got a 3.25 Carli lift and when I hook up a gooseneck I squat a lot and looking to even it out some more I saw they have full travel bags and Firestone bags with day star cartels. Wanting some recommendations

Daystar cradles for sure you will be able to maintain full movement. You will naturally be stiffer empty as bags will still make contact.

I definitely would love to keep the ride but towing is a big thing too, I don’t want to still squat with the daystars, do you think it would be fine?

Yeah daystar is just a cradle that has a shoulder. It captures the bag and when they separate it guides it back in place.

There is this kit... kind spendy but it's sweet. I am waiting for their kit for the 3500 since I have thuren rear springs.

yeah that’s why I was hoping for something cheaper like the Firestone bags and daystar cartels since they are only like 600 instead of the 1700

You can do it the poor man's way. Install air bags with Daystar cradles and get some plugs. When not towing compress the air bag and plug it and plug the hose... it will keep it collapsed.

I was gonna do that but just leave the bags hang and not plug the hose, I think it should allow most of the travel, are the full travels really that much better to deserve that price tag?

Airbags should always have air in them so even the long travel will still compress with air in it. They are still attached top and bottom so another link connected. Daystar at least breaks the connection. I don't think you would see a difference between the two set ups.

Awesome thank you! I’ll start off with the days stars and if they don’t work I’ll upgrade I think I got a better chance of selling the regular bags then the long travel ones

Just remember the cradles only work with 5k lbs bags. Doing that you will be sub $500 which isn't much at all to test.

Alright thank you! Do you know if the air lift 5k bags are the same? And if I could use those instead or if those are better than the Firestone?

Yep 99% of the 5k bags are same dimensions everyone just rebrands. I have airlift 5k and they work with cradles.

Could you move the SxS back on the trailer and reduce the pin weight in the interim?

No I have another one going on behind it and that was just to see the squat when I hooked it up and the one that will go on behind it is heavier

or try re-adjusting the gooseneck tube. Looks like you might be extended out too much
It only has one more notch it can go in, i planned on doing this anyways just haven’t messed with it

I didn't like the Craddles. I use the Firestone bags and the Airlift Wireless compressor. Works great. for my load i usually see 20PSI when towing. I have the Carlie 3.25 pin top lift and the issue is the rear springs are a progressive spring that actually lowers Payload. They have a Stiffer spring that matches the OEM payload too.

Do you mind sending what springs those are? I assume that makes the ride also match the oem?
