2025 3500 TPMS (not TPIS)

My new '25 3500 has the TPMS and not the TPIS I was expecting (and hoping for). It seems like others have said the same. Without any aftermarket solutions available yet to adjust or turn off the threshold pressure, it seems like the options are to run at 65/80 all the time, or deal with the alarm. Not a huge deal, but - coming from a 2500 - I was looking forward to never seeing that amber lamp.

Worth noting that all the RAM literature and website still list the 3500s as having TPIS. If anyone has a different experience with their '25 3500, please feel free to share.

You should be able to go 20 % +/- threshold on pressure. On my 2025 I am able to run my back at 70 and front at 70 with no alarms. Trick is to pick an early cold morning to set them at 70.
 
64psi was the limit for me to trigger the “inflate to 80” warning on the rear of my SRW 3500. To clear, I had to air up to 80 drive around the block for TPMS to register the change, and then air back down to 70psi, which is what I’m trying this week. You can’t simply air up from 64psi to 70psi to clear the warning.
 
Thanks guys. Sounds like the same behavior as the TPMS on the 2500s. I run 50 psi front and 35 psi back when not connected to the trailer, so a far cry from the 20% threshold. For now, I think I'll just live with the alarm until there is an aftermarket solution for changing the setpoints. Doesn't sound like AlfaOBD, JScan or AED ProCal work with the 2025 (yet).

other than the annoying amber light, there is no audible alarm is there? I am hoping to take delivery of my truck soon, and plan on throwing 37s on shortly after. Id like to run them at 45/40.
 
It’ll ding on startup and change the instrument cluster to the TPMS display.

I use the ding as my reminder to turn on the exhaust brake before I go anywhere.
 
Not sure what makes it TPMS or TPIS. 2025 3500 DRW Lonestar with Bighorn Level 2 plus. I got an alert on the dash when the outside duals were at 64. It popped up the screen with all the tires and their pressures and the outsides were highlighted red. This happened at the point the tires went below and also every time I started the truck until I filled them to 65psi.
 
TPMS alerts on low pressures, TPIS just shows that the pressure is low if you change to the screen.
 
Tire Pressure Monitoring System = Active monitoring = Alerts
Tire Pressure Information System = Information Display Only

Selective Tire Fill Alert system works the same on either. You can have 2 presets, but that doesn't alter the low threshold alerts for TPMS.
 
My 2024 3500 DRW has TPIS. If I changed it to TPMS can I set the limits really low and have the same information the TPIS system has? I'd like to have the ability to lower the tire pressure for a better ride and be able to periodically monitor the pressures but still have the TPMS warn me if a tire gets dangerously low.

You can lower the threshold on the TPMS, not sure how low tho.

But to answer your question yes. The display stays the same but you just get the tire low light in the TPMS.

I'd probably lower the TPMS warning pressure to a comfortable no cargo tire pressure plus some margin below to prevent nuisance warnings.
 
I got the tire warning today on my new 2026 3500 Limited Mega Cab when my fronts fell to 64 psi, I was also thinking like most they were still using TPIS like my 2022 3500 Bighorn. I find it false advertisement ON PAGE 5 my equipment listing downloaded directly from Ram with my VIN list TIRE PRESSURE INFORMATION SYSTEM not TIRE PRESSURE MEASURING SYSTEM.

I think the listing for tire pressure information system is a generic term used on the build sheet to indicate you have the the screen to monitor tire pressures. My build sheet for my 2024 has the same thing, but I get no low tire pressure alerts on my dually.

There must be setting in the BCM that needs to be changed.

SO looking through AlfaOBD and the BCM on my truck, I think the setting highlighted below might be what all of the 2025 3500 trucks do not have enabled for whatever reason.

I would ask you dealer to see if they are willing to look in to it, you may have to pay for the techs time, and I would offer to pay for their time upfront so they are more willing to see if a tech will do it.

I took my truck in for the latest recall a while back. I mentioned what someone else here mentioned to change the TPIS to TPMS would fix this issue. I was told they couldn't do this with the new trucks. My warning would trigger 1 or multiple tires below 65 but not trigger one or more that were lower than the trigger. They ordered parts that are now here, just have to schedule it.
