Looks like there are some deals on 24 2500's with diesel as dealers clear lots for 2025 inventory. OTH the 25's with the improvements to the cummins and new ZF 8spd transmission look really good too. Thoughts on what to do?

If waiting is an option, wait 6-12 months to see if any issues with a new 25 truck come up. Too many changes in a new 25, can't be a good thing, don't be their lab rat.
That was a thought too. Test drove a 24 Laramie a little bit ago. At 68-70 mph it had a terrible vibration in the front end. No '25's yet in the area to check out yet.

i am not sure if the dealerships are anticipating these tariffs to hit for building new trucks. But from what ive seen the used market is going up big time for good used trucks again. Dealerships seem to reach out every second month to me it seems which is fine. But in the fall a local dealer offered me 56 for my 2022 5500 laramie with 50,000km. I just laughed and said no thanks. Last week another dealer reached out and offered me 70,000 without a bed, or 85,000$ with the current deck on it. So there seeing if they can get a 2024 3500 limited drw chassis cab from another dealer on the way for me. It seems at the moment anyway dealers are becoming desperate to get good used trucks.

Given that the HD's are assembled in Mexico, I expect them to be subject to the 25% tariff, so I wouldn't be surprised if the prices took a sharp turn upwards soon.
That would even affect trucks assembled in the US to a degree, since a lot of parts are imported from Canada and Mexico.
I think they're shifting the production of the hemi engine to Michigan, but currently they're still being assembled in Mexico.

Do you need a truck or just want one? If you need one, with 24's they're deals to be had if you do your research. 25's I wouldn't go near until 1st year production passes and shows the problems....and there will be problems as with all 1st year models.

and there will be problems as with all 1st year models.
I may be the exception, but I bought a 2019 1500 in late 2018, so a first-year Gen5, and had no issues with it at all until I sold it four years and 40k miles later for the PW.
IIRC there were some recalls, but only really minor stuff I didn't even notice.

Get a '24 at a good discount. I did and now I'm driving my truck instead of waiting for a '25. Big changes makes a chance of error greater, so go with what works while they work out the bugs.

The 2025s have some new tech that is standard now which is nice. Friend of mine bought a new 2025 DRW 3500 while we were on vacation, traded his 2020 3500 SRW HO. For him it was a huge upgrade for the added 30 HP. As for the new trans he loves it, I got the same mileage he did in my 2024 HO 3500 DRW towing.

On a 6% uphill grade I was in 4th at about 2200 RPM and he said he was in 6th at 2200 RPM. If you are coming from an older HO or the SO Cummins you will be impressed. For me the trade up to a 2025 for another 10 HP and some extra tech isn't worth it.

I bought a 24 mostly because of the "lab rat" factor. While I loved my trusty ol' 06 5.9, it was time for a truck capable of heavier work than the ol' 2500 was up for. Wife and I decided after a test drive that the 24 3500 was plenty enough of an upgrade, and for the deal we got at the time, no need to wait another year or two and see what the 25's are gonna be all about. The measly 10 hp and the ZF just wasn't enough of a dangling carrot to make it worth waiting for. Who knows, we may end up regretting that decision.... or not....

I bought a '24 at the end of the year. Contemplated waiting a bit for the '25s, but decided to go ahead with the '24. Ultimately, I'm glad I went with the '24 at this point.

First, all the changes do make me a bit nervous of teething problems.
Second, while I don't exactly hate the '25 styling, I like the '24 styling better in a lot of areas.

Sure, the extra torque and HP of the 6.7 are nice, but that's it. My truck has more than enough power for what I'm using it for, so I don't think I'll really regret that.

Those who bought a 19-24 3500 with the HO, like me, the 25 really doesn't offer much performance increase.... 10 HP more and torque is identical. Again, not much carrot to dangle.

I bought a leftover 2024 because the dealer was offering more discounts, Patriot Blue appears to not be offered for 2025, I'm not sold on the electrical architecture update reliability, and uncertainty with these moronic tariffs if I ordered one. Hemis seem to only just be coming online anyway, with no benefit over the 2024 like the diesels have.

That said, I priced out a 25 yesterday optioned similar to my 24 and the MSRP seemed favorable, but my dealer has a bunch of 550+ day old 24s that they want to get rid of. The price they gave me on my 2024 was better than what Mark Dodge offers on new 2025 orders.

That and I had to have Patriot Blue. I'm sure Forged Blue is nice too, but Patriot explodes in the sun and goes well with my Deep Sapphire Blue M.

So finished up numbers with the dealer today, was able to get what seemed like one of the last 24 3500 drw limited chassis cabs in canada.... holy crap are they hard to find. I didnt want the limited rather a loaded laramie. But they were able to adjust pricing to get me into the truck for only 20$ extra bi weekly. I couldnt believe the trade in value honestly for my 22 5500 laramie with deck. When only last fall i was offered 20k less by a local dealer here.

I was given the option to build a 25 laramie chassis cab, but it was already going to be 5k more than 24, ontop of which if the tariffs come in before its built they would have to charge me that which is INSANE. So i just bit on the 24, i think ill be more than happy with it, looking fwd to the mileage increase and the limited leather smell again!

i will say from my experience though, these dealers seem itchy as hell to sell right now, i counter offered once with what i thought was a crazy number and they bit. So i think if you can get a 24 before these tariffs hit, it may be adviseable!

I was in the same boat as you and as many stated above I bought the 24 deal was too good and I didn’t want a first launch truck I’m sure issues will arise with the 25’s i hope not but we shall see!

Just bought a new '24 MegaCab Dually and not looking back at all. Two weeks ago I drove a '25 MegaCab Dually and I prefer the '24.

1. The '24 was much more discounted than the '25.
2. I like the sound of the '24 better. Sounds petty, but for what we pay for the Cummins option, I want to hear it!
3. As others have stated, there will be issues with the '25 .... it's just the way it goes for new stuff.
4. Minor item, but I looked under the hood of the '25 and saw the fuel filter locations. Reaching the rear filter may not be any easier than the current location above the driveshaft.

maybe a touch off topic. Does anyone know if the 3500 drw's come with Tire pressure monitoring ? specifically the 3500 cab and chassis. I assume they do as i believe they were a standard thing. I know that the 45/5500s dont.
