Ram 2500/3500 Crew Cab

Hey everyone,
I’m considering upgrading to a Ram 2500 or 3500 Crew Cab, and I’m stuck between the option of 1st Row Bucket Seats vs. 1st Row Bench Seats. I know this is a pretty common debate for full-size trucks, but I’m really curious to hear what you all think based on your experience.

My '21 Laramie has the bucket seats. For that matter, every truck I have had, from Ford to my many Rams have all had buckets. They are far more comfortable, storage in the middle, etc. If yours would be a work truck, and you need the capacity, go for it.

I prefer the bench. The center console is more comfortable to me, looks much better, and we've used the 6th seat many times.

Both my 18 and 22 have had the bench seat, while my dads 17 and 22 have had the buckets so I've had a fair amount of side by side comparison time and my initial impressions haven't changed over the years.

The outer seats are the same with bucket or bench, so how are they more comfortable?

I’ve got the bench in my 20 tradesman and buckets in my 24 Laramie. To me it would depend on whether or not you think you’ll have a 6th passenger. I love the big console with the buckets but that’s just me.

I've never had a need to put 6 people in a vehicle. If I ever do, our Durango is 6 passenger with a spacious enough 3rd row and 2nd row captains chairs.

I much prefer the extra storage of a full center console, the bench would just be a waste since I would never flip it up, and if I did flip it up then I think you lose the center cupholders? Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't remember seeing other cupholders in the dash like my dad's '98 Tahoe did. The "cupholders" in the door map pocket are just stupid and useless to me. Not sure if the bench is available this way, but I was told if I wanted a truck then it needed to have ventilated seats, so buckets and Laramie were the way to go anyway. I hate ventilated seats, passionately, but "happy spouse happy house".

So, get the bench if you genuinely need the 6th seat, realizing that anyone taller than a child will have their knees in their face. Buckets otherwise.
