2025 RAM HD Builds and Orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Maybe make a thread. Curious about regeneration strategies on the new setup.
I can do that once I have some time behind the wheel in my normal routine. My 23 is currently regening every ~100-130 miles when in town. It will go to 24 hours if it's a long highway only drive.

I'm curious about the placement on the filters on these new cummings. Can the fuel filters that are now both on the drivers side be reached from above or is it still a job for under the truck?

access from the top, that's the whole idea, easy of maintenance

Anyone able to find the filter part numbers yet? I haven’t found anything saying which oil and fuel filters are needed…

Don't see any yet either
My truck should be in next week or the week after so hopefully the dealer can get their hands on the correct oil filter. I plan on changing the oil within the first 500-1000mi…. I would go ahead and order the filter if I could find the part #.

I would wait until at least 5K. The oil in it is for burn-in. After 1k miles it probably will still have high abnormally amount of wear metals in it. Just my thoughts.

The issue I have is my truck won’t be a daily driver and will be leaving for a 5000 mile round trip pulling the camper(not including site seeing). My intention was to change it just before leaving. I only average 550 miles a month in my current ram.

My Laramie L2 Night CC DRW just arrived. Nice looking truck.

Just to recap the journey 2/12/2025 - 3/27/2025

I'll stop by again for any final comments on the process and who I did business with. Thanks to everyone for keeping my occupied with this thread - it made the time go by a little faster.

I pick mine up this weekend (10 hours away). In a video they sent me, I can see they (or factory) installed a front license plate bracket even though I asked for it without that (not required in my state).

Anyone know if removing that bracket will leave damage to the bumper??

I would think you will have at least 2 holes

I'd wait too but there's no such thing as break in oil in a cummins (or any engine "break in" required). It's better for the engine to leave that factory oil in and just work it to allow the cylinder finish to progress. That said I'd probably not run it over 7500 on the first change but wouldn't sweat it. I don't think any modern engine uses "break in" oil any longer.

Member here sells paint matched plugs. Look in the B/S/T forum.

I may map out my route and see if there is a day on an overnight we get there early enough to take it to a dealer. I’m afraid I would be over the 7,500. I plan on doing every 5,000.

I’m OCD and it’s easier to keep track of for me. I’d rather be overkill than possibly regret it later. Trading in my 2022 6.4 for the 6.7 in hopes of not getting another for several years. I changed the oil in the 6.4 on a 5000 mil schedule also.
