As to tariffs: They would have to weigh out the cancelation of the contract against the cost of maintaining the inventory. (you would not be obligated to purchase due to the price agreement, but they can still cancel your order)<br />

Strictly speaking to economics (there are political aspects), those who advocate for protectionist tariffs should really look into the 1930's and the Smoot-Hawley act. The consumer always eats the cost. Even with increasing domestic production, reducing competition almost never results in lower prices. Any gains in wages and employment will be offset by cost. ....we've got about 3 decades of toothpaste to get back into that tube, if restoring domestic production is the goal.</div>
