What did you do TO your RAM today?

Looks good. Going to be digging into mine soon. Any tips / tricks or tribulations ? Thx
3/4 crows foot, specifically for the 5&6 fuel lines.

Do not clean egr with solvent (nylon brush and air if you absolutely must but I didn't bother)

There are 2(upper & lower) banjo washer-seals, don't lose them. And be very careful with them as to not tear the rubber in the ID.. Or just pre order new ones

Egr crossover v-band on passenger side has a metal gasket seal... Don't lose, and align and tighten first before the four egr flange bolts or midline clamp.

Hit me up if any other questions.. I can try to help.

Right on thx. Up here in the 51st state so allot of reassembly isn’t required. Ya 5 and 6 look like the trickiest from what Hootube vids I could find.

Lol fair enough. Don't get me wrong... It can be done with just a bog-standard wrench but I was wishing I has a crow when my hand was going numb and choice words were be said.

Also... Take before pics during the removal stages for reference in reassembling. Mostly for fasteners / harness connection sequence.

Keep us updated on how your Bridgestone Dueler AT Ascents are doing as that’s one of the tires I am looking at.

Question are they three peak rated and labeled?

Will do.

I drive a fair amount of miles for work (1200 or so per month) in a variety of conditions. I get a little picky with tires as a result.

I took a bit of a chance on these as they’re relatively new and there’s not really a ton of reviews out there on them. I’ve got a set of Dueler Revo 3’s on my wife’s Jeep that have been fantastic for our uses. Given that the Ascent is replacing that tire I figured they would be at least as good as those.

They are 3 peak rated and labeled (unlike the outgoing Revo 3), which is a must for me. The amount of siping throughout the tread pattern is pretty impressive and likely plays a big part in that rating.

I’m also surprised at how much more aggressive looking the tread pattern is compared to the generic photos on most websites.

I look forward to your feedback also. I have been looking at these tires too. Like you I am very picky about tires.

Mostly about noise!

I’ve tried all the tires that everyone on the internet tries to say are just as quiet as stock tires (falken AT3w, Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT, Etc.) and none of them are quiet like stock, they all have a hum of some sort. Michelin Defenders were silent but also leave room to be desired in offroad traction.

Made and installed some slide-in truck camper rear tie down anchor points
I had Happijac bumper mounted anchor points on my old truck and they worked fine but the newer trucks have much thinner bumpers. I can flex the bumper with my hand and was concerned that the bumper mounted anchor points would flex too much or damage the bumper.
I was going to purchase Torklift rear anchor points (even at their proud price of ~$400 per set) but they are incompatible with the OEM rear bumper step.
So I made my own.

Took out the sunglasses holder and mounted the head for my new Icom ID-5100 in its place. The radio body is under the drivers seat, screwed the rough the carpet and into the heater duct. Holds it in place well enough.

IMG_1390.jpeg

Also, coincidentally (but unrelated since the radio is on an ignition only circuit), my battery died on me. It was fine at night when I parked the truck in the garage, but the next day I went to get in and about ate it when the power step didn’t come down. My brain was on autopilot and just assumed the step would be there when the door opened! Checked the voltage on the battery and it was 5.17v. Something gave out overnight I guess. Thankfully Walmart was a mile away and had their EverStart Platinum AGM for only $179. Hard to beat that price.

I really like this. Been debating where to mount my 5100 - this could be a winner.

I ordered the Vice designs slimline reverse light kit with the cable for the Aux switches. Pics to follow when they arrive and I install them.

Finally removed the dealership sticker from above the Laramie emblem. I bought the truck a month ago today, but it sat on the lot since probably June of last year, thankfully there's no ghosting of that stupid sticker. It's been way too cold until recently to get outside and do it.

No free advertising! Plus it was large, cheap-looking, and obnoxious.

I was hoping it would fit inside the holder so I could actually fold it away, but no dice.

I’ll snap a picture of the mount I made. It was stupid simple though. I used the magnet plate that came with the radio, attached it to a $1 steel tie plate from Lowe’s that I put a bend in, and then stole two 8020 90* brackets that I had to attach it to the screws that hold the overhead console to the roof. The 8020 pieces could obviously be substituted with anything else bent 90*.
