TransferFlow Replacement Tank for Hemi

Why can’t aux gas tanks gravity feed?

Gasoline is Flammable due to the flash point of the vapors (-36F).
Diesel is Combustible due to the flash point of the vapors (100F).

You can set it up to pump from the top but that takes a bit more doing...
Scroll down to the description and they provide a vague layout of what needs to be done.

a few folks have reached out to me regarding status of this replacement tank project. I sent an email inquiry to TransferFlow yesterday and will let you know when I get a response. Thanks.

Last word I got from them said to expect the tank in late 2025-26.

Today, I heard back from Transfer Flow on the tank status:

Highlights:
The tank prototyping is complete and the capacity is 46G. So basically, an additional 15G over factory tank. Durability testing has begun, and is going well so far.

Remaining hurdles:
-complete durability testing
-complete emissions testing
-obtain Executive Order (EO) from CARB.

The target launch date is roughly September, with the caveat that this could change because gasoline systems are complicated with many parts.

Some details:
As you all know, TF had been deciding between 44G and 50G tank. The feedback they received from customers didn’t show a strong preference for one size or the other. Also, going above 50G requires a larger sending unit (more $).

So, TF decided to use all possible space forward and backward of the factory tank, while avoiding going lower as best as possible. That effort yielded a 46G tank. I was told that the ground clearance on this 46G should be similar to the factory skidplate (on models that have a factory skidplate, which I guess is the Power Wagon). Note that this 50G tank that was under consideration will NOT be developed.

Waiting List (not to be used for project questions):
For anyone wanting to be added to the waiting list for the tank, please email Teri Barry, Sales Manager at Transfer Flow. Her email is [email protected]

Please include your:
  • Name, phone #, and email
  • Year, make, model, cab size, and bed size of your RAM
Terry indicated that she will not respond to project questions in emails requesting to be added to the waitlist; instead, please post such questions here, and I will coordinate with Terry to get answers for the group.

Just emailed to be added to the wait list :)
couple of questions if you could …

1 - can you confirm Canadian availability ? (Not a huge deal because I can always drive across the border to pick it up worst case)
2 - guessing that it won’t be confirmed that it will fit on 2025 ram 2500s? … my 2019 was written off and I’m just on the edge of my seat to order a 2025 Rebel gasser … I wish Stellantis and RamCares would actually care and open up ordering faster already

Thanks for the help!

I just emailed Teri and will advise as soon as I hear back. Just a guess...but if 2025 models are not yet on the road, I'd be surprised if TF can confirm fit. We'll see what she says.

Responses from Teri @ TransferFlow:
"The compatibility range will likely be 2021- present. Older vehicles have different emissions canister and wiring configurations. However, we have not yet confirmed compatibility for the 2025 Ram."

"We ship to Canada all the time. However, it can be expensive due to taxes, border fees, brokerage fees, and the exchange rate."

Thank you for checking ! This USA / Canada tariff trade war is gonna suck, especially when added to the USD/CAD exchange rate; but paying a bit more for the ability to not worry about a half dozen Jerry Cans is well worth it IMO

Glad to see there is some positive momentum on this... I have a deposit on a 2024 Laramie CCSB Hemi, trading my Jeep and taking delivery once they've installed factory steps. Cummins was out of the question due to the cost of the upgrade, and the impact of my short commute on the after-treatment system. A friend with a 2023 Limited CCSB Cummins just installed a Titan 50 gal yesterday and that sent me down the fuel capacity rabbit hole... At most, I might tow 8-9k lbs with an enclosed car trailer from Detroit down as far as FL and east as far as Harrisburg, so reducing the number of stops and embarrassment of stopping more often than our friends with a Cummins and a Duramax would be helpful!

I agree the cost is steep, but I place a lot of value in not needing to stop more than necessary, especially if there is no convenient place to stop and I have to stop on the side of the interstate to refill from a sidekick with semis rushing by, and then easing back onto the interstate with a trailer.

So 2019/20 models are out of the running is what I'm seeing

It has been a couple of months, anything new on this?

The tank has been installed in Transfer Flow's 2024 Ram for the last few months to perform durability testing, and seems to be going smoothly. TF is in contact with CARB regarding testing and await their direction on emissions testing.

pricing likely to be close to TF's tank for Ford, which is $2,750.

Still only for 21+ model years?
