Has anyone added the rear floor-board storage boxes to a tradesman? If you look under the cab you can see the area in the floor looks like it has a knockout for them.

If so, how hard was it?

I had them in my 2016 Tradesman. I kept never needed recovery gear in them, they are not convenient to access on the regular.

If I had them in my 2024 I'd be happy and put something in them, but I wouldn't go to any measurable expense or hardship to get them.

That said it looks like it can be done pretty easily

Im thinking more for of a stealthy storage place as theyde be under my heavy rubber mats.

After posting this I found a video. It doesnt look too difficult. The cost of one complete box from mopar is a bit much. Ide be better off looking for one at a junk yard

I have them on our 2016 2500 Tradesman 6.4L. Don't use them other than there's a spare quart of oil laying down in one. No room to keep it upright. Too difficult to access the boxes with our large Huskies always standing up on the floor mats when I open the door.

On our 2024 3500 Tradesman Cummins it doesn't have them. I wouldn't use them.

Have safe boxes slid under the passenger seat for storage.20250305_160646.jpg

Thats a good idea actually. Ive also seen small safes that install into the center console under the flip up.

I have them in my 1500 and I think they're great for, like you mentioned, not often used things like jumper cables, my Alfa/JScan stuff, extra parts... My MegaCab doesn't have them. I'll have to look to see of it has the cutouts or if it's just due to the configuration of the Mega and not being room underneath for them. I like them.

I got a good deal on set from eBay and added them to my 2020 Ram 2500. It was very easy install.

I recall Seeing a write up somewhere on adding them. It was mostly just cutting the carpet, unbolting the cover plate, bolting in the new one. Iirc I removed mine to assist in accessing some of the bolts when I installed my sliders and it was pretty easy.

As others said, under the floor mats they are not easy to access, especially if you have the fold flat floor flipped down like I normally do. But they are a good spot for emergency supplies: I keep a few bottles of drinking water in one, and a quart of oil and some other tools in the other. Nice thing is if the liquids spill, it is contained.

I added them to mine its stupid easy other than the seam sealer lol. Cut the carpet then cut the carpet foam back even further. The only thing I have not had a chance to do yet is cut the floor mat so I don’t have to lift it anymore

I just bought a 2022 2500 Tradesman and I have the cutouts for the floor storage. I want to add them and found a salvaged truck that’s a 2008. Would the bins fit in the 2022? I also want to add the load floor. Would anything from the 08 work or would I need to look for newer years such as what year?

Cut the floor mats?

Did you mean 2018? I didn't even know they came in an 08. Any from a 10 to a 2025 would work.

Got mine from ebay for a 13-18 Ram. My truck is a 2025 Tradesman 2500. Pulled some push tabs holding down the carpet, unbolted the front bolt of the rear seat and the rear bolts of the front seats, unbolted the two metal panels, cut the brand new carpet with a razor screwed the buckets in and then reversed everything except the metal panels. Piece of cake.
not my video, but what i used to guide me through the process.
