2025 RAM HD Builds and Orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

While reviewing the options report with the dealer for a 2025 3500 Laramie, CCLB, DRW, I observed that the truck had the Max tow package option that included air suspension and the GVWR was 13,500lbs. I am guessing the lower GVWR is due to engine/trans/options weight. Guess I will know more when I receive the truck.
I have a similar spec, if you got max tow - that'd be concerning to me as the RAM build page clearly shows 14k, and so does the catalog cited earlier. Trim level variance should not come close to 500lbs. I realize the door tag is the source of truth on GVWR, but I have expectations of 14k based on the documentation. My 08 3500 mega I've had for the last 17 years was a nagging compromise in payload and box length that I was looking to remedy with the 2025, so this is now a concerning topic to me as well.

I ran across this table that shows and comments on reduced capacities. Sure looks like there is 510 lbs missing from the 3500 payload.

6050 payload is the regular cab, lower trim, but still 4x4. While 5,540 would be the DRW CC/long which puts us at 13,440 for a 7900 curb. So you're probably right, dammit. While its not the end of the world, I still find it frustrating. They use the trim variance to cover for this, and that's pretty huge - marketing folks suck. Its still a 14k GVRW, but the cab and other trim related items add to the curb weight, reducing total payload.

My 2024 BigHorn 4WD CCLB DRW with air has a a 14K GVWR. It has a gas engine but that shouldn't increase the GVWR, just the payload. I could understand how the max. tow package could decrease the payload but it shouldn't decrease the GVWR unless they're derating the air suspension or something.

I agree with you. I find it hard to understand their charts. To me, looking at the table listing in the hd catalog, a CCLB DRW with a payload of 5,060 lbs and a GVWR of 13,500 would end up weighing 8,440. I dont understand how a heavier engine/trans can decrease the GVWR of the truck, should just reduce capacity. I mean if the truck weighed 8,440, shouldn't the payload be 5,560 if it truely had a gvwr of 14,000? Not to mention there are several conflicting charts available online as well as notes that don't make sense. I still suspect that truck is going to show up with a gvwr of 13,500.

We just got an email that the rear air suspension is now available as a free standing option instead of only in the max tow package.

Spoke with ramchat. I'm "D" status, and transition to "D1" is typically 23 days from "D".
My spec is a Laramie 3500 4x4 CC Longbed DRW- no supply issues and looks like a happy path at the moment.
Now to find something to occupy me until mid March when I should have a delivery date.

Man I was getting all excited reading these posts so I thought I would check on mine.....went into production Feb 21 with a delivery date of May 10th ( my birthday ) and now it says June 2nd...so much for my birthday present

Yeah, that's why I gave up on ordering and found one a dealer had ordered last November. Hopefully it gets here soon.

Checked the tracker this morning and now it’s saying my delivery date is a month later than originally quoted. All the way in May. Anyone else’s status change like that, only to change again?

I know on the RHO forum guys on there have that date shift or be not accurate at all. The dealer can get you the date they see which is probably different and often times the trucks were showing up much earlier. (I ordered an RHO before switching to the 2500).

Mine jumped from Apr 6 delivery to April 28 yesterday. Still hung at In Production. Dealer said Friday, truck was shipped to on-site storage and expected ship date 3/4.

Mine was set for April 16th delivery and now says May 8th.
My dealer called and said it's in storage waiting on rail.
He said most likely end of March.
Mine still shows in production status since February 16th.

Uhg. 35 days from order to in production but they have a June 11 estimated delivery date. That’s a long time. Hate the wait.
