I inherited a Blue Driver scanner about a year ago and started using it about Oct. 24. I always had my NOCO genius 10 plugged in when the truck was sitting.
I recently took a trip to cottage country and when I came back I didn't bother plugging it back in.
About 2 weeks later of not using the truck I went to start it and it was doing the really slow turn over thing.
Since then with the NOCO plugged in and unplugging the Blue Driver its been great, so I'm thinking that Blue Driver plugged in causes a lot of parasitic drain on the battery.
Anyone hear or confirm about this ?

Im not sure what the info on that device is but yes the OBD 2 port can still supply power with the vehicle off im not sure how long it will stay powered after shutdown on these new trucks but it is very possible its the issue

Regardless of the Blue Driver, experience of some here, including me, is that two weeks of not starting the truck will drain the batteries. There seems to be enough of a parasitic draw on some of these trucks so that either they need to be driven more frequently than that or need to be connected to something like a NOCO.

My 22 has sat 3 different times for 15 days while on vacation, I've had no problems with drained batteries for it siting without being started when I returned home...

I have let it sit for at least 2 or 3 weeks at a time without the NOCO hook up with no problem at all, it was not a issue till I started using this Blue Driver.

I did not get that lucky but in any case I now use both the faraday pouches and the NOCO Genius and no further issues.

I've been using the Faraday pouches since day one since I got the truck ... side note: I have bought 3 brands of pouches now from Amazon and all 3 seem to only last about a year before they start leaking signal. Maybe from shoving in and out of ones pocket but they certainly don't last forever.

Sleep mode characteristics regarding power draw were one of the reasons I shied away from BlueDriver and went with OBDLink MX+.

Good find ! I knew I wasn't imagining the battery drain with this thing. Thanks ... I Ill have to pull it out when not using it or put it in the crusher. :(

I leave my MX+ plugged in all the time with no battery issues, even if the truck sits for a week or two. You might consider the MX+ if you get tired of repeatedly installing/removing it. It's a tight fit and sort of a pain due to the location. I vote for the crusher, haha.

About a year and a bit ago I bought a MX+ but it wouldn't connect so I was on here trying to get help for it to work and tried all the suggestion but no go. I waited too long to return it and I'm stuck with it.
So when someone gave me their Blue Driver I snatched it up.

Bummer. My original MX+ did not work either. All of the indicator lights were illuminated, and it would not connect. I contacted customer service and they were great. Sent a new one out and no issues with it. Maybe contact customer service and tell them what happened. They might do something for you.

Had the same symptoms, lights on nobody home, I might take your suggestion and give them a call. Did you talk to them by phone or email?

I went to OBDLink website. Under support, click on your model unit, then scroll to the bottom to submit a support ticket. Explain your situation and what the unit is doing, even after attempting to reset. You can also attach a file. I submitted a short video clip of the lights.

These units have a 90 day money back or 3 year warranty so you should be good if you have your purchase info.

Thank you BP . I took a screen shot so I have this info ready.
