I own a 2024 Ram 2500 Tradesman and wanted to add the Homelink garage door opener. I saw this on Amazon and wasn't sure anyone tried this?

Also I saw the one on infotainment.com but man that's expensive. I was told I could possibly find a oem visor on ebay and than source the wiring harness through infotainment.com. Either way how will I know what plug to tap into for ground, ignition or even constant power for the visor vanity lights or if I just go the Amazon route. I'm a DIY guy but usually need a video to follow. Any help would be appreciated. Pictures would also be helpful.

Just find one on Ebay. nip the connector off and use your own wires. just need power and ground. there is no additional programming of the truck needed. Homelink is self contained in the visor

I bought a harness from infotainment.com just need to source the visor now. If I want the driver and passenger side visors to match I need to buy the passenger side to since the homelink ones are cloth not the hard plastic on my tradesman.

Just scored a nice looking set from a wrecking yard 140 for both.

Waiting on the harness from infotainment.com for driver side but unsure how I'm going to hook up the passenger side vanity light. Anyone have any ideas how to get the vanity lights on the passenger side to work?

Would you have a link to that wiring harness and or part number as well?

Just called infotainment.com and explained to them I needed the harness and they sold one to me. It normally comes in there kit with the visor but if you find a visor somewhere else and explain to them about this forum and they will sell the harness to you for approximately 50 bucks.

The harness from infotainment isn’t really worth purchasing. I just installed a mirror for a wrecker with their harness and they tap into full time 12v power. That means the home link works when the truck is off and kind of defeats the security purpose of having home link. Couldn’t find switched 12v power in the overhead console and had to tap into the mirror

I bought the infotainment harness and the homelink is ignition power only. Doesn't work when the truck is off.

The wire their video said to use was constant 12v. I probed every wire in my overhead console and not a single one was switched 12v

Maybe my truck is different for some reason but either way it’s not worth $60 for three wires you can just tap yourself

I would agree with you if that was the case but the harness looks pretty oem and I followed the direction and it works perfect. The vanity mirror is constant but the homelink is ignition only. I specifically asked them when I bought it because I didnt want my garage to be open by some strangers when they break into my truck
