How many got the cloth seating vs leather? Any regrets? Ive always loved leather - but I wanted that cool tread pattern at the time and my rottie loves to ride shotgun and would destroy the seats… I started using that flat load cargo area - and she loves it now - so I kinda wish I waited for a truck with leather

Anyone do a swap? Is it worth it? Any pros and cons I’m not thinking of? Seems like everyone has leather!

Im an odd one - I like vinyl. I wish the tradesman seats had lumbar support, but otherwise I like cleaning the seats with my Milwaukee 18 volt leaf blower.
I've been very disappointed in the 'leather' options from the big three in the past few years. Our 2018 Ram 2500 limited had real leather, and it was very nice. The last several trucks I've owned with leather felt more 'pleather' to me for some reason. I've been told the "leather trimmed" seats are more like a leather laminate, a vinyl base layer with a thin leather layer on the outside.

Our gladiator has cloth seats, and I think they're much softer than leather in the jeeps...
I personally wouldn't trade leather into anything, unless you found a set of Limited seats (not sure if they are still as nice as they were in 2018)

correct about the “leather trimmed” seats - it feels like some kind of weird hybrid material… that is not leather - I checked out a PW with leather…. It was nice - I just decided against it because I could save some coin - and not have trashed from dogs… then gain the tread seat pattern which is cool…

Good point on the vinyl - I agree - leaf blower and then simple wet cloth wipe down - and you’re done.

If you want full leather seats you'll need them from a Limited, a Longhorn, or a Level 2 PW or Rebel (Level 3 for 2022 PW).

I have the cloth seats. I like them. In summer cloth stay cooler than leather, and in winter they don’t feel as cold. Leather looks nice when new, but I don’t love the look when it gets shiny over time.

The cloth seats do have nice vinyl and leather on the bolsters to prevent wear.

Not sure what a whole set of seats cost to swap to leather, I'm looking at the katzkin when my truck arrives. Coming from the factory with cloth and heated seats. Replacing all cloth in truck (seats and headrests) a little less than 2k.

Under 2k???? That’s not bad - I’ve seen a couple jeeps and a ram 1500 with katzkin at the dealer in the past - looked great - take pictures!

Are you able to keep the embossed tread pattern on the seats with it….? That would be a bad ass detail to keep….

I got my truck used, it came with leather seats

Pros:
-easy to clean
-heated
-cooled
-looks cool
-durable

Cons:
-hot as F in summer until the cooling kicks in
-even with cooling you stick to them some times if wearing shorts
-slippery, when off roading I slide around like crazy in the more bumpy stuff
-leather gets more slippery with time as your ass polishes it lol

If I was getting new or had the option I would not do leather again. I am going to try and find a good set of seat covers that does not effect the cooling too much if I can.

I've got a 75A, so leather was the only option. I like the look of the 2 tone, but honestly the seats aren't quite as comfortable on very long trips as the cloth ones in my old Express were. I wouldn't get leather without the heating/venting option. I also don't have dogs or children in the truck, so messes are minimal.
