Last week I thought I saw a thread that showed the connector in the overhead console for the power sliding rear window, but now I I cannot find it.

My 2020 Bighorn 2500 has a solid rear window with no defrost, but I do have heated mirrors. I would like to add the power sliding rear window with the defrost capability.

Where would I look for the connector near the rear window for both the power sliding window and the defrost to plug into?

Thanks

I'm interested in this, too, and will stay tuned for an answer.

I’ve never reviewed any information on the wiring needed to add the rear window defrost.

I still want to add it, but likely will only do if I break the glass.

That said I would like to know exactly what I need to have to make it work before said breakage.

I may tackle this this spring look for wires ect.

I added the Deluxe overhead console to my Tradesman that included rear window switch. If I recall all the wiring was in my harness for rear window even though mine has solid rear window. I too would only replace it with a slider if my solid rear window broke. RAM used to have rear slider as stand alone option but only part of package now.

What year tradesman and also do you have a oem part number for the overhead console by chance? My truck is a 22 2500 big horn.thank you

2023 Tradesman. My original console is first picture and I replaced with Deluxe in second picture. From what I recall all the wiring and pinouts were in my original factory harness for the Rear Slider button. What I have not verified is if the connector is behind my rear seat to power and control the rear slider

I took my overhead console down (so simple - 2 bolts and 2 clips, then unplug the wiring connectors). There are 2 wiring connectors behind mine - a smaller, 6 pin connector that handles all the lighting, and a larger, 5 pin connector that has all the sliding rear window wiring. The larger connector for the sliding rear window was plugged into a dummy connector as I don't have that option from factory.

Through some more research, it appears the heated (defogger in Mopar parts land) and sliding rear window (backlite) functions are separate. You can have 1 or the other or both. There are 2 connections for the heating coils - in the C-pillar on each side. The sliding is operated by a motor mounted below the center of the window, behind the rear seats. I'm not sure if there's a manual sliding window with the heating coils or if that's only for power sliding. I removed the C-pillar trim pieces and the cab rear trim panel and found the connections for both the sliding rear window motor as well as the defogger heating coils. May tackle adding both soon.

That’s because you can have heated mirrors without a rear slider. To enable my heated mirrors I have to press the rear window defogger button. I don’t have a slider or rear defogger but have a rear defogger button.

Was that like that from the factory? I always wondered why my "heated mirrors" button looked like a rear window defogger button. I too do not have a rear slider or defogger. So I wonder if they both have to be on at the same time then, if it's operated from the same button. Maybe they can be operated separately with soft buttons but not the hard button?

I was just looking at a 22 2500 Laramie limited in a scrap yard and it had one that looked very similar to the picture dmhines posted, but I can't say if it was identical. It was part number 7KX241L1. That one was a sort of cream colored finish. I looked into it briefly when I got home and it appears there's a "premium" overhead console and a "base" one. Looks like the premium has a 16 pin connector and the main difference is sunroof wiring.

The mirror heaters and window heater operate from the same button at the same time on my factory equipped truck. In fact, every truck I've ever owned that had heated mirrors and rear defogger operated at the same time from a single button.
