Shocking.......

50,000 miles and I heare a pronounced "clunk" right front when I make that right turn on the way home from the grocery store that kinda dives down hill. I also have a shimmy up front at speed that is intermittent, and seems to start with a bump and then have a few more lighter "bumps" like a decreasing slow vibration. So I am suspecting the shocks.

1: IS it normal for the OEM shocks to wear out at 50K?

2: Do I replace with OEM or aftermarket? IF there's something better I"m looking for a smooth highway ride.... no adventures.

My RR shock went out under 10K.

Replaced with Bilstein 5100 which are great for towing but rather sporty compared to stock, but 4600's are closest (said to be) stock for 2020. The 25 (maybe 24?) have a new OEM vendor, Koni I believe.

My 19 2500 came with 4600s they are pretty good

Not likely unless its ready to fall off, wheel bearings will howl long before that maybe ball joints but thats far fetched at that low milage. 50k miles is a good life for shocks really.
 
I'm not going to put them on myself, and dude will put it on the lift and give it a once over.
 
B4600 out of stock at Tire Rack.......
 
Upgraded to 5100’s in November about 8,000 miles ago and both fronts are making clunking noises now. I paint penned them to see if the bolts/nuts loosen up. They’re still where I co-witnessed them. But, the shock themselves jiggle :(

Clunk while turning and the minor shimmy i could feel was my wheel bearing going out at 55k. Easy thing to check.
 
I also have a clunk in the rear that sounds like someone hopping on a pogo stick lmao. Went a little too hard this weekend I guess.

Rear sway bar was loose. Once tightened the noise went away and hasn’t returned since.

Mine did the same, I think the threads won’t allow sufficient compression on the bushings..not enough thread.
I put very thick washers under the nuts and good since.

I ended up loosening them and re-tightening them and haven’t had an issue since. Not sure if I had them too tight or what.
