I hooked up my 5th wheel RV yesterday, first time since I purchased the new '24 RAM 3500HO Dually. The RV has the Gen-Y goosebox which we love, so it hooked to my RAM's gooseball in the bed. The pin-weight is about 3000lbs and it set the suspension down to within an inch or two of the overload spring. The truck sits level, maybe 1" higher in back, so I'm happy there. I don't want to install airbags with compressor and such, but I've been considering using the SuperSpring SUMO Spring dampners for when I hit hard bridge seams and such (just to smooth out the ride a bit).
Has anybody else done this yet on a dually 3500??? Looking for advice/feedback before dropping the $550 or so on the SUMO Springs, or should I just save my money? I know, airbags (to level out the ride and help stabilize) would be ideal, but then I'll need onboard air, etc. for about $1400 and hours of install, and sometimes they leak. I just don't want to go there again if at all possible, plus all that crap corrodes on our Idaho roadways.
Thanks!
