New member. New to Rams, have almost always owned trucks with one truck based SUV in the mix. Over the last decade, I’ve owned a Toyota Tundra 5.7, Nissan Titan XD 5.0 Cummins, and now a 2024 Ram 2500 Laramie 6.7L Cummins.
I regularly tow a boat that is on the heavy side, and often full of heavy dive gear. Towed it with each of those trucks. The Tundra was by far, the worst. Engine had the power, but needed to keep the RPMs up, and highway tows were just no fun. Just did not feel stable.
The XD was much better. Truck actually felt in control. The RPMs were much lower, and the truck was a lot more stable. Still have the XD. My daughter is using it now. Never felt unstable, but I wouldn’t say that I didn’t know the trailer was back there, because I certainly did.
Only towed a few times with the Ram, but it’s handling the boat with ease. This does tow like there is nothing back there. Not even breaking a sweat. Haven’t done a long highway tow yet, but definitely looking forward to it. Absolutely loving this truck.
