MOPAR - MAXCARE - Zeigler - Extended Warranty Merged Mega Thread

I hate to be the ignorant azz hat asking this question, but im good with it. Doesn't the 3yr bumper to bumper mean (3yrs of coverage from bumper to bumper). Yeah, we all know that tires, wipers, brake pads etc are wearable parts that don't apply to the warranty but all things major are covered, correct. Also to my understanding, ( I know theres disagreement on this portion of coverage), the dpf regen system parts are covered, not including filter and somebody putting the wrong kind of fluid in def or fuel tanks. Basically bar complete stupidity, your covered for the first 3 yrs and what ever mileage wich most don't hit

I don't put a lot of miles on my vehicles. Probably 5000 a year tops. I usually keep a truck between 7 and 10 years depending on what new toys and gizmos come along that I can't live without. With the 12" radio. FCW, adaptive cruise, surround view cameras, plus the basic various electronic modules.....I figure $1010 for an 8 year/60,000 Maxcare from Ziegler is pretty cheap insurance. I put the same contract on my '19 Grand Cherokee and bought the Lifetime Maxcare on my wife's '14 Grand Cherokee. I've only had my Ram 2500 for 4 months and already had to have the ABS module and ABS pump replaced along with a burned pin in the connecting cable repaired under basic warranty. You never know when a $1K or $2K repair is coming along on these mobile data processors. I'll pay the $1010 and not worry about anything for the next 8 years.

again if that was an option in CANADA i would probably do it but we dont have that. In canada its 5800$ for the same coverage.

This warranty overlaps the Original Warranty of 3/36... so you aren't paying for 8/60, you are paying for 5/24.
When I had the 1500, I bought the Lifetime Warranty... *that* was worth the cost of purchase but they got rid of that option.

Luckily I haven't needed it yet (other than the poor A/C performance), but I think the 3 yr 36 month is only a BASIC limited warranty, not bumper to bumper. I was told bumper to bumper is only 1yr 12K, but would love to be wrong.

Hopefully they didn't feed you that line to get you to buy the warranty... and if it was only 1/12, the other big two would be all over that like stink on sh it

I didn't get the extended warranty, and it's a 2019 if that helps.
Just found this - looks like you guys are right! You have no idea how happy that makes me. Typical dealer doesn't even know what they are selling, and yes they were at the time trying to sell me the extended warranty so it's all becoming clear now. Thanks!

It's shi tty when the dealer lies and pushes stuff... and the 'extended warranty' they offer is usually not event the MOPAR warranty but some 3rd party warranty from which they get a kick back.
Glad you got it straight in your head and feel better.

I purchased 100,000/7yr Maximum care from a dealer in Indiana for something like $1800 for my 2016 Ram, in 2016.
I was just quoted $3544 for the 100,000/8 yr Max care for a 2020 Ram 2500 w/ Cummins

Like many others, Ziegler is a dealer who discounts Chrysler Warrantys

Who or what is ZIEGLER??? Is it a dealer or warranty company??? Thanks folks!!!!!

Use discount code PAYINFULL for additional discounts. Used this to beat up the dealer on mine. Got it from them for $100 under Zeigler quoted price.

What state? You can't get discounted extended warranty plans in some states.

I just checked Zeigler and a 8/100K $200 deductible is $2,370 before discount. $2,005 with the PAYINFULL promo code. Priced for Colorado.

FL was almost $1K more.

Best to contact them for details, you may also be able to get additional discounts. These are FCA maxcare warranties so it doesn't matter who you buy it from. I gave my dealer the opportunity to beat their price when I picked up the truck so they got credit for selling one and it counts to their monthly coop targets (bonus money).

Just for grins let me tell my cautionary (not yet resolved) tale of woe. Bought an 8/60 MaxCare for my truck from Ziegler back in June. No problems. It showed up under the Mopar Protection panel on the Mopar Owner's web site the next day. Fast forward to last Thursday. Took my truck in to my dealer for the bed step recall and an oil change. i used a coupon from the Mopar Owner's site to buy a Mopar 3 Synthetic Oil Change package while I was there. Friday I signed on to the Mopar Owner's site to see if they recorded the recall as complete, which they did, and see if my oil change package showed up under the Mopar Protection panel. To my suprise, NO oil change package....AND...NO MaxCare 8/60. Nothing in the panel except the old "Mopar offers protection....blah blah blah....Click Here For More Info.

Fired off an email to the Mopar Customer Support folks using the Contact Us. Late Friday evening I got a response that basically said "Looks like your MaxCare has been canceled and we see the oil change associated with the VIN but it's not showing up on your Owner's account. Recommend you call Mopar Protection at this number xxx-xxx-xxxx".

Monday morning called Mopar Protection. The young lady said that apparently when I purchased the Oil Change package, my service writer misspelled my last name. This cued the computer to ASSUME the vehicle had a new owner so IT CANCELED MY MAXCARE contract. She said that she would alert the Plan Administrator to the situation by email and that someone should contact me between 24 and 48 hours. Did not hear anything yesterday afternoon nor anything all day today so I don't have any resolution yet. Looks like someone would have called, emailed, or maybe even offered to refund my money.....or maybe they were just trying to get away with my $1000.

So, just a caution. If you have a MaxCare and decide to buy any other Mopar Protection products.......LOOK OVER THE PERSON'S SHOULDER AND MAKE SURE THEY GET YOUR NAME SPELLED EXACTLY RIGHT. Apparently there is no intelligent human intervention in the decision making process at Mopar Protection.
