Help...
2022 2500 limited mega cab
I'm adding the trailer tire pressure monitoring system....
I have my ttpms tire sensors installed in my trailer wheels, wireless reciever module installed behind the rear bumper, I need to install the trailer tpms (tis) control/gateway module (68404893ab) ... I have heard the plug/connector is located in headliner near right rear door and I heard that it is located behind the back seats below the rear window.... please help, thanks in advance,
John

We have a thread on this:

TPMS (TIS) sensors for trailer (SOLVED - see 1st post)

But this pic is from a Cummins Forum, a little shorter to read, better info I think:

I have purchased a barely used (3100 miles), heavily optioned, 2022 3500 Ram Longhorn Laramie Limited Crew Cab. I am trying to determine if the truck has the OEM TPMS hardware already installed (wireless receiver #68375990AC , gateway #???????????? and harness #68395315AB) for the trailer TPMS. I have spoken to the dealer (sales/parts/technician/service writer) and no one can tell me if I have these two items installed or not. They are not familiar with the trailer TPMS (Sales code XG9) option. So I am on the hunt to figure it out. (1) What does the wireless receiver look like? I have the same question in regard to the "gateway"... (2) Exactly where did you find these two items to be located? (3) Can OEM TRAILER TPMS be added if I do NOT have the parts in place? I have part numbers and pricing for the "receiver" $150 (#68375990AC), TPMS sensors $106 ea.(#52112451AA), and harness $47 (#68395315AB). The dealership (parts dept) made no mention of the "gateway I have read about in the Stellantis information sheet (link provided) (Stellantis, in Norway, makes the OEM TPMS for Ram). I have an open case with Ram and am awaiting a reply. I will post back here with the reply from Ram. Hoping someone here has the answers for my questions. On your EVIC under trailer you will have a menu for trailer TPMS if it is equipped.

You can also get a copy of your window sticker online, or look at your equipment listing.

Thank you for your quick response. I read and printed off the 11 page list of options. I found a "TOWING TECHNOLOGY GROUP" listed, but NO TPMS for trailer listed. So, do I need the "harness", the "gateway", the "receiver", and the four TPMS sensors (for the 4 tires)? Will that get it done? Thanks again for your reply.

I know it’s been done, but don’t recall what all was needed.

Have you searched for older threads?

Honestly, I prefer my TireMinder system/App.

If you really must.

LINK TO STELLANTIS TTPMS
PART NUMBERS AND INSTRUCTIONS

I JUST CASSHED OUT ON A 2024 RAM 3500 Dually. I bought the tpm module and wire extension (10ft long, and I did not need it.)
Module plugged right into the factory harness.
Computer does not see the module.
I bought 8 trailer tire sensors
I had those 8 sensors installed into 8 trailer tires.
I am now told, “sir your truck build does not have TTPMS”. REALLY ?!?!?
Why would Stellantis build a vehicle that can not be upgraded with factory features and add-on factory parts?!?!?
Same BS with getting the third brake light camera bought and installed.

Don't understand the point of your post.

The TTPMS is not an "in the field" sales code that can be added by the dealer, YOU have to code it using AlfaOBD or JScan after installing the correct parts. That is made clear in the DIY thread. Same thing with cameras. They require the correct modules, cameras, and programming via DIY.

Your link is for parts that are supplied with a chassis cab that has the factory Sales code ordered. Those parts are only the bumper receiver and cable. There's a headliner mounted TTPMS gateway module and jumper cable that's also required. Also detailed in the DIY thread here. Sorry, but those errors and omissions are 100% on you, not Ram.

Ok GREAT!!
I’m here…
To get it figured out…
I have ordered and have… the module, 10ft extension wire.
I followed the instruction from Stellantis.
Where is the link to your instructions and I’ll follow those… to try and get it all set up.
In your post I see things already I did not know about.. like the alfaODB & Javan, and there being another part to this under the headliner.
The module is currently plugged into the harness that came in the truck. That plug had a dummy plug in it. Instructions said to remove that and plug in the module. Is that wrong, at this point I’m not sure. Also the 10ft cable… it’s needed for some trucks and not others I read.
I’m here to learn how it’s supposed to be set up so it will function properly with the truck.
Any and all advice are definitely appreciated.
If you’re the guy that knows.. I’ll send you my number so you can enlighten me on this TTPMS install..
Thanks,
Ron S.

FYI: I am not here to but heads.. I signed up to this page to try and learn more about what needs to happen to Make It Work.

The link to the install thread was posted above. Here it is again, and has everything you need to know in the first post:

This can be enabled with JScan right? I can add that to the 1st post detailed instructions.

We're here to help those that want it.

Your "just cashed out" was just a little confusing and you never really asked a question in all the ranting.

As Jimmy07 posted, please review the link provided and if you have any other questions, just ask.

We have an extensive list of DIY mods scattered about the forums that can be completed and several members have written exhaustive how-to's on them to help others. Spend some time looking through the "stickies" in the different forums, especially https://hdrams.com/forum/index.php?forums/modifications-and-accessories.36/

Lastly, if you bought the parts listed in your link, that bumper receiver 68375990AA is the wrong part for 2022+ trucks. You need 68526635AB

This can be enabled with JScan right? I can add that to the 1st post detailed instructions.
It should be. If it is, it’ll be:
Modules > body controller > configuration > trailer tpm vehicle config 8, and TIM P/T chassis net.

“Just cashed out” - - —>purchased
- - - I bought a 2024 RAM 3500 Dually with cash.
That is all.
I was not happy to hear the dealers telling me I purchased a vehicle that can’t be added to either factory upgrades. I don’t think anyone would want it hear that.

I think I have all of the components except that model that’s supposed to be under the headliner.

I’ll also be wanting to buy and install the third brake light camera asap…

“Just cashed out” - - —>purchased

Cashed out means converting assets to cash, so to cash out on a 2024 Ram 3500 means you sold it and is part of why your post was confusing.
