9MM on top of strut stripped. Suggestions on how to remove

I changed all of the struts yesterday on the 2500, well 3 of them.

The front were easy to remove/replace.

The driver rear was a little harder but still got it done.

About a 1/4 of the way removing the top 18MM nut on the passenger rear strut, the 9MM nut on the thread rounded off and now I can’t remove the 18MM therefore unable to remove the final 4th strut.

Any suggestion on how anyone else that’s been in this situation has removed the strut?

I’m thinking of just using a sawzall with a metal blade and cutting right below the nut off.
 
turn it to liquid.

grinder wheel on 2 edges and a wrench

channel locks set to oooga dooga

hammer on a smaller socket.

slap it and say thats good enough.

Cut it or vice grips. Those stud mounted shocks suck to change.

its amazing how well vice grips work. ive set them to kill on axles and hammered the vice grip to pull the shaft out of the housing before.

I have a set that I welded a nut to the adjusting bolt so I can clamp it then tighten the adjusting bolt with a wrench to get even more clamping force!
 
There’s no headroom to do the majority of these suggestions.

I think I’m gonna cut off the thread above the nut that is exposed with the sawzall, then cut down on the nut to cut it in half.

A nut splitter would do it quick and easy and they are pretty cheap
