I need to relocate the shark fin antenna on my new 2024 3500 because I don't want to raise my cabover camper enough to clear it. Does anyone have the instructions on how to drop the headliner?

Thanks

Pull all the plastic pillar covers off, the upper console and all the clips and other goodies that are screwed into the headliner plus disconnect the electrical connectors that are on the headliner edges. Then it should come down easy.

How close does the camper come to the roof of the truck?

Do you know of any pictures? My understanding is I need to remove the A pillar trim and grab handles. I have trim tools but don't want to break any trim pieces on my new truck if I can help it.

If I raise my camper 1 1/2" (thickness of a 2x4) I have a minimum of 2" at the center of the cab and about 3" at the clearance lights but I only have an inch at the antenna. I feel comfortable with 2" at the center of the cab since my old truck had 2 1/8" and I never had a problem but I'm pretty sure 1 inch at the antenna isn't enough.

Wow thats tight, I don’t have any pics unfortunately but @Jimmy07 would know the details on removal well I think

There are a few pics in my build thread. There are no clips holding it in. But you have to remove both the A and B pillar covers. And the back seat belt retainer.
Be careful with the little screw holding the back side cover on. It's a Phillips under a little ci er near the top.

I once spent 2 hours recovering that screw. Save yourself a huge headache and use a strongly magnetized screwdriver on it.

Thanks, I looked through your thread briefly but only found pictures with the A pillar trim already removed. I'm hoping not to have to remove the whole headliner, I just need to pull it down enough to access the harness connectors and bolt holding the antenna on. Does that seem feasible?

The antenna is near the front. So you will need to pull the A pillar to get the top down. I didn't pull mine fully down when I ran the wires thru for my light switches. You may be able to access it all. Just remove the overhead console and the visors and it should come down enough.
