Hi everyone! I am thinking about buying the above with the Aisin transmission. It has 114,000km (70,000 miles). Carfax says the CP4 recall has yet to be done and dealer says they will do it. Should I be worried? Any other reason to shy away from the 2020 year? Many thanks for everyone's help!

I guess it depends what kinda deal them fellers are giving ya? Nearly 5 years old and 70k miles works out to approx 15k per year, which means it was either a daily driver or it has seen an awful lot of the American countryside, probably pulling a sizable 5th wheel the whole time.

They are asking $69K CAD ($48k USD). It was used as a "wide-load escort vehicle" you can see the brackets on the front bumper that they sign/cones was attached to. This leads me to be believe it actually never towed anything in its work life (maybe that is just wishful thinking but I cant think of anything they would tow?

I still prefer to buy a pre 2020 lower mileage vehicle as opposed to anything built after covid. My experience has been that build quality across the board took a hit during covid.

Most likely highway miles which equate to 15 to 20% less wear and tear than city driving.

Look at the total engine hours and also the percentage of idle hours. Cummins states that anything above 16.6% idle hours is excessive.

and being a 2020 thats actually not alot of miles.

also look on the dash and go to towing and see how many miles they have on their while hooked to a trailer for funsies. Honestly not a bad truck. get the recall done.

my 2021 with 101k miles on it sold for 39k and was only a big horn with its second transmission. and was a 2500 at that

Those miles would only be accurate if they were never reset.

If you were to go look at my trucks trailer page it would show 0 miles for all the trailer profiles combined. I’ve towed a bit more than 0 miles.

you can reset it? I honestly dont think many people even know they can get to that option lol.

It’s a trip meter just like Trip A or Trip B. When you look at the screen it says to push the right arrow to reset.

The trip meter is trailer specific and will be different for each of the 4 trailers that can be configured.

Trailer Trip can also be displayed as one of the adjustable gauges.

I’d be very surprised if many people don’t know…

ill check when i get to the truck. if i had known that id have cleared it before i traded it in with 30k towing lol

Super helful. Here is what the dealer sent me just now. 698 idle, 2149 driving, 2847 total. Not sure what the 46:17:08 means?
