Got a P2609 DTC today. Looking for troubleshooting help.

When I started my 2022 2500 this morning, the normal grid heater bar in the EVIC came on, and I waited as normal for the engine to start. It didn't, and the EVIC showed the normal push brake and button to start. Did that and it started right up. Then noticed the check engine light is on. The iDash shows only diagnostic code is P2609, Intake Air Heater System Performance. I checked the wire to the grid heater; it's tight. Thinking next step is to check and/or replace the grid heater relay. Not sure how to troubleshoot one & can't seem to easily find one either.

I want to eventually add the BD Diesel heater upgrade, but not wanting to tackle that yet as everything has seemed fine. Yes, the grid heater relay recall was done (Feb 2023).

Any help with a part number and source for the grid heater relay? Any suggestions for troubleshooting? Thank you!

Did you get this addressed? If you are getting a 2609 with stock grid heater, you need to disable it now. Regardless if it feels tight, that stud is a time bomb and the next application of heat might be the end of your engine.

its a 2022, i highly doubt its an issue.

Why is that? Mine went bad at 72,000 but just over five years. I got the code and dismantled it. I was sick at just how close I came to being a casualty. It affects all 6.7 with no real cause. My truck spent its first five years in an enclosed shop in south Ga. No reason for it to have done that.

its been spoken about here to exhaustion. 2018 w/ 110k, 2021 with 101k, both had 0 issues. i can show you what the 2021's looked like at 90k if you like? Its an overblown issue. has it happened, sure. but there are trucks with 3-400k on them and its not a issue. so i doubt a 2022 is going to have the issue.
